Share

The printing of ballot papers for the January 20 presidential election is expected to be completed by midday tomorrow on Saturday.

A check on the printing schedule this afternoon at Ren-Form, the company contracted by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to print the ballot papers revealed that ballot papers for 79 constituencies had been printed.

Speaking when the delegation observing the printing process visited the plant this afternoon, Jean-Pierre Du Sart, Sales Director of Ren-Form, announced that printing is expected to be completed tomorrow.

Du Sart said at the rate work was progressing, all the ballot papers are expected to be ready for dispatch by Tuesday next week.

”By six hours this morning we had done about 74 percent of the printing and we will finish printing by lunch time tomorrow,” he said.

A check at Ren-Form found ballot papers for Central, Eastern, Lusaka, Copperbelt and Muchinga provinces being palletised while other ballots were at different stages of stitching, guiloting and packaging.

The ballot papers will be dispatched to the airport starting from next week Wednesday to Friday and airlifted to Lusaka on Saturday, January 11, 2015, nine days before polling day.

Eleven political parties, MMD, PF, UPND, FDD, NAREP, Heritage, UNIP, Christian Democratic Party, Forum for Democratic Alternatives, Green Party, and Fourth Revolution are contesting the election.

  1. Make sure UPND representatives are happy before the job is done otherwise they will blame everyone else for their impending defeat.

Bravo to all involved in this project.

    Viva EL Viva PF

    • My friend Big L, HH is carrying the day.

Accept that fact. No weapon formed against him shall prosper. We shall guard every vote and PF is already showing it’s desperation in the campaign period so what more when the votes start trickling in favour of HH.

PF Kuya bebele ba Apostle Liubanya naba voka.

      Viva #FlightHH2015

  2. PF are not Happy with this process. IF it were Thel it should have been; ‘those for Edgar Lungu, raise up your hands’.

  3. Ballot papers are almost ready, I just wonder what will be HH and entire UPND accusations on PF election campaign or their excuses this time around. Last week UPND accused PF of bringing foreigners from Congo and Rwanda which is a very serious accusation that can put our national security at steak.

  4. Shame of Zambia by failing to print them at home. You are not independent, where is gvt printer which was located near the railway station in lsk?

  5. As Zambians we cant do anything….we cant print baallot paers yet we have Govt printers with a huge staff bill, we dont have medicines, yet we have a UTH hospital and yet again Edger went for treatment abroad, we canyt pay farmers for their crops as we have an irresponsible Govt, we cant have electricity as it is exported to get monies for the ruling party ,
we don’t have a national airline, but were promised two years ago, we don’t have a constitition but were promised in 90 days…..

Zambia is a finished state, even business cards for the cabinet ministers are printed in China. Zambian needs education upgrade, UNZA uses outdated text books, compared to America, maybe 11th grade material, judge from that angle. See,Lawyers have like two year diploma, what law do they practice, it is a sorry sight my friend. Look at engineers, how does a country run out of water when you have the so good engineers to develop modern technology to deal with the problem, maybe it is the funding from the government that is a problem. It is not easy in Zambia.
