Kalusha backs under-fire Janza

Share

FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya has back Chipolopolo coach Honour Janza as Zambia participates at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations that kicks off in Equatorial Guinea on Saturday.

Janza was on Thursday castigated by Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili for demanding that FAZ offers him a contract prior to the Africa Cup.

But Kalusha said FAZ has confidence in Janza.

“Everything has been going on well, and we shall not allow any distraction especially at this moment. It’s tough enough to play just
one game at the Africa Cup,” he said.

”I want to reiterate that Coach Janza has the full backing of FAZ , players and all at the Secretariat. He wouldn’t be in charge of the team if we did not believe in his quality and ability,” Kalusha said.

The soccer icon wants Janza to continue as Zambia coach.

”I have always said he is doing a good job and we hope he can be around for a long time. He deserves a chance” he added.

As interim coach Janza qualified Zambia to the 30th edition of the Africa Cup.

    • Though he made fun of Nsanda at one time for lacking education he is just as bad each time he opens his mouth it is just threats

    • Only in Zambia do you find an overweight person as minister of sport. what message are we sending to the young??

Sata was useless. Let PF go enough with the nonsense

    • It is unfortunates that Janza and his team will not vote. They would have voted for HH government.
If HH wins on Tuesday, then Zambia will win the AFCON.

  1. How do you expect Honour to deliver without motivation, the man is not sure what tomorrow brings and all you are giving him are assurances. The minister back home is threatening him, we the soccer fans are expecting results but the person we are expecting to deliver does not have a peace of mind.

  2. Is Kambwili married???? His wife must be a very strong woman. I wonder how anyone can manage to live with such a bully! The chap has no deplomacy. He would have just told Njanza that they are working on his contract.

    • She is kept away from him for fresh air in the UK, can’t blame her, would you?-She has been there for years and years, while the big Zambian Pepe Kalle chases after sweet sixteens’ down there pa Zed.

  3. If it was a whiteman, contract was going to be in place ofcos. But for a Zambian always have to wait and told to just work.

    • You are absolutely spot on that is why Janza is crying for one….any one who has brains would especially when you know that Zambia is going nowhere.

  4. And I really think if they don’t antidisetablishmetaliarism the Zambian players, the coach will cause a Jamboree at the Africa cup of nations

  5. The Prince you are useless to bring in the late president in weight or obesy ministers. It was Sata who warned them to start exercising. Now is not here to defend himself. What people eat and their life style has no bearing Sata. Hate even for a dead man showed the character of a shrewd and bent person

    • Sata was useless. Didn’t he see that he was appointing obese thugs to be ministers? PFools always blame the President’s advisors as if the President did not have a brain. Perhaps he did not have a brain after all. If he had, he would have taken care of himself and be still alive.

  6. The best backing that Kalusha Bwalya should give to Janza is to facilitate that he is given a contract before the end of January 2015, especially that his performance as coach is acceptable! Janza needs to know what he is working for. Otherwise, Janza, should use the opportunity at the tournament to find a more responsible employer. If he can make Zambia win the tournament, he will be sought after by many other employers. He shouldn’t even waste his time quarreling with Mr. Kambwili over straight forward matters!

    • Bt is performance so far has jus been average, qualifying the team to tha afcon is no extraordinary thin, infact him even struggled in an easy group, the late bamfuchile qualified wit a 100% record.

    • Why not? Do you know the importance of a contract? Do you know what an incentive it is to a manager’s performance and job security?
Who is the administrator here between BUFFOON Kambwili and Galu? The government should not even waste taxpayer’s money on these empty suits as that is interference.

  7. Thumbs Up for Kalu, that’s the way to go. I support Kalu’s stance on Janza though much needs to be done. Janza as Technical Director at FAZ was incharge for a lot of Frustrations experienced by other National Coaches and assistants and i believe people dont have to wait to experience the bad others have gone thru. FAZ Technical director needs to have a Standard contract document available each time wen engaging Coaches. Yes Kalu please ensure FAZ has correct proceses and Procedures that you will all honour.
As for Kambwili please be informed that Fear has never resolved problems and please moderate your Languange. Bulling anyone doesn’t help create harmony. Janza has a big Tasks of Making us Zambians Proud so he needs Great support as a Minmum from us all.
    GO JANZA, GO ZAMBIA.

  8. Leave Sata alone, how can Sata come into football? UPND will never rule this nation because you irritate people. Some are not politician but you everything is political.

    • Sata was and will always be the worst President Zambia ever had. It is even his PFoolish and timely death which had brought us this by-election. May his thug soul rot in hell.

  9. Really laughable indeed of course The Great Corrupt Galu is going to back Janza where else would he find a professional coach to take a national team to a continental final without a contract…no benchmarks, no targets… Janza is so so sleepy. ..wake up!!
Zambia is not going NOWHERE! !

  10. Kalusha is very dull he’s the one who should have given Janza a contract what is talking about now. The minister expected Janza to raise issues thru’ normal channel to FAZ and not media.

    • Galu has never been smart…every time he opens his mouth nothing sensible is uttered…its only the gullible zombies like those bloggers above who buy into his rubbish. Maybe its the fact that this Grade 12 footballer is able to speak English about nothing.
The Great Corrupt empty suit Galu should be telling us what his is targets are at the tournament. ..these are not administrators but utter reckless jokers using Faz as a gravy train.

      Zombies need to wake up!!

  11. ……….this idea of going into a tournament just for participation is no good at all……Janza is trying find excuses and justify his would be bad performance in advance….trying to win sympathy from the masses well in advance…..
..why bring up the contract issue at a crucial hour..??…his job started when he was appointed head coach and not when he is at the tournament….the initial contract of interim coach stands…how do you arm twist your employers to promote you at your convenience…??…substantiating him now cannot be the reason to win the cup but strategy, meaningful and timely substitutions, morale boosting among players etc….
…for now let Janza just forecast on Zambians’ expectations and not his….

    • ….there must be a contract he signed as an interim coach….whether be it casual, part time, or temporal there must always be an agreement before you start…..u mean to tell me that he is coaching the lads based on word of mouth from his employers…???

    • U r very right, the chap has bcm pompous simply bkoz he qualified the team to tha afcon, infact he had to sweat in his pants against mediocre teams lyk mozambique whom we beat on any given day, time or place.Bt he wants to cm out lyk he is already a hero

    • Yes acting president for 90 days this is the selfsame reason we are going to the polls on Tuesday as the consistution…by the way all those trips Scott was taking he will be paid for in allowances on top of his contract as a vice president.
Do not try to protect those corrupt empty suits in Faz you will end look foolish.
      wake up! !

  12. If this were Nigeria the players would wait until they make it to the semi final and then refuse to play until their coach has a contract on the table. Janza will be the most sort after coach after this tournament and FAZ will not afford to match the other offers that he will get. Mozambique, Namibia, Angola and especially Kenya can all afford to pay him at least 3 times what FAZ will offer him. I hope he brings home the gold.

  13. Kalusha Bwalya you still do not say anything about the contract. You may have full trust in Janza but the truth is he still needs a contract by law. I think you are shying away from the facts here don’t you? That bully Kambwili is making things worse by uttering threats. The best the PF government can do is offer to pay for Kambwili to go back to school to learn ethics. Communication is very important in today’s globalized world and he needs to be aware of that. His behaviour can alienate a lot of people especially heads of sports related issues from around the world and can cost Zambia because of what comes out of his mouth. Anyways rumour has it if Edgar Lungu is president he will be the first to go. If I were him I would start looking towards HH. I’m sure HH will not want him either.

  14. zambia needs normal people as leaders not lawyers who steal from clients and what does one expect from kambwili and why vote for pf if we are day in day out complaining surely?
