As MMD youths, we wholly welcome and support the recent appointments made by President Edgar Lungu since he assumed his role as Head of State.

We are elated that apart from making sound appointments of credible females, President Lungu has also included some youthful and fresh individuals such as Kaizer Zulu, Mulenga Sata, Chilubanama, Davies Mwila and Dr Ngosa Simbyakula in key leadership role in his administration.

We have for a long time advocated for the inclusion of young people in national administration and it is refreshing to see that finally, President Lungu is making bold steps towards fulfilling that vision.

[pullquote]President Lungu should discard the non performers and offer a chance to a new breed of youthful leadership[/pullquote]
Last year, Zambia entered its Jubilee year which should mean a marked transformation in leadership and development of this great nation. We yearned and prayed for a leader that will understand the true meaning of Jubilee and President Lungu appears to be walking in that correct path of new beginning and a fresh start.

It is understandable that some PF cabinet Ministers who failed to perform are anxious about whether President Lungu will retain them in his administration. Our appeal is that President Lungu should discard the non performers and offer a chance to a new breed of youthful leadership. The non performers should not hold President Lungu at ransom in search of jobs. They should not be allowed to continue riding on the illusion that since they campaigned for President Lungu, he owes them jobs and other paybacks.

We believe that President Lungu will not realistically give jobs to everyone. We further believe that jobs should be gotten on merit and not mere patronage. It is therefore on this score that the MMD youths call on all well meaning Zambians to support President Lungu with his appointments. We should all rally behind His Excellency President Lungu as he embarks on his role to transform the nation.

We have seen a President who can incorporate youths in his administration and therefore needs to be supported.

  1. Hmmmm! written by Bowman Lusambo? Does Nevers Mumba have anyone left to support him? Please disband that party called MMD.

    • AS A VOTER I NEED TO ASK MYSELF IF I DID A WISE THING BY VOTING FOR EDGAR LUNGU. THE GUY IS SO INDECISIVE THAT HE CAN’T EVEN CHOOSE A CABINET, SO WHEN IS HE GOING TO START WORKING? YOU CAN’T BE APPOINTING 3 OR 4 PEOPLE EVERY WEEK AND TAKING PICTURES WITH THEM – NO SIR, YOU’RE NOT SHOWING US SERIOUS LEADERSHIP.

    • How did you vote from Canada, ndimwe fwiti? Are you a wizard? Let him take his time with making a Cabinet. We do not want air heads holding strategic positions. Reason president Lungu must be supported. Especially happy about the vice presidential appointment.

  2. At the rate he is moving it will take him slightly over 40 days to complete his appointments and he thinks he has 5 years

  3. Ok. I am Tonga. I am actually PF supporter. I have never been tribal. However the misrepresentations of issues by certain people have dragged me to a level where I have developed a strong tendency towards tribalism. Please note that I am the first one here to give up on this. I will love all Zambians and respect their views. I will support our current President. I will respect all the tribes and they must respect mine. I advise people to stop generalizing and to be a little more objective when discussing issues. All I long for is a good future for my children in this country. I ask for forgiveness from all the people that I seem to have offended. Can everyone emulate me? Please.

    • That is how a gentleman behave. Luv you Mweemba7777. I am Bemba and I remember my mother’s best friend was lozi. They would share mealie meal, relish, even body lotion. They were like sisters. I never knew tribalism. Both have passed on and how I wish all Zambians would love one another.

    • @6.1. The Champ. Are you saying all South African whites are racists? Many white South Africans are married to blacks. Yes SOME whites are racists; not all.

    • That is very good, I remember growing up in one of the shanty towns in Lusaka and all my mother’s friends were not from the Eastern province despite my mother being a Chewa! I remember very most of my mother’s friends being Mambwe, Lozi, Tonga, Bemba e.t.c! We even used to take pride in having friends who were not from your area of origin such that we would even be friends with foreigners ( Bazezulu from Zim Zim) who were very many that time running away from Smith. Tribe was not an issue then, so I wonder why it should be an issue now in the 21st Century!!!!

    • Ba Mweemba777:

I am so proud of you, one of my favorite pastors is Pastor Mweemba, a humble Tonga man. When I moved to Livingtone I was very young and fresh, far from home and no relatives of mine.

When I found Calvery Church, there were just a handful of individuals who could speak Bemba. My immediate best friend was Mundia, his cousin Sitali became such a compatriot we became room mates. Slowly Livingtone became home as a young bank officer at Meridian BIAO.

Almost married a Tonga girl, my own protégé was a Toka Leya we were all one. Growing up on the Copperbelt as a melting pot for all tribes, I took certain things for granted but living in Livingtone proved to me that we were all One Zambia One Nation.

Elder from different tribes embraced me and my fondest memories are…

    • @CHAMP uli chinangwa! There some of us who grew up in Kitwe and the language we know best is Bemba. Most of my friends are Notherners and Easterners though am not from there.Think before you you write.

  4. This chap lUSAMBO is just a political prostitute he just want to be heard by EL so that he can start conning him the way he was conning late President SATA. What he is trying to potray is not making any sense when he is one of those who is calling expulsion of RB from MMD for supporting the same EDGAR LUNGU whom he is praising this double standard can only come criminals like LUSAMBO. Please GIVE Zambian a break from your crookedness with your Pastor Mumba we know what u are up.

  5. @Mweemba all this tribal talk is on LT, ZWD and Tumfweko only. You wont find people in Clubs , bars or at work talking the tribal rubbish we here on the media. We just enjoy our work or beer together. In fact the most vocal are not even here in Zambia

    • @Ndaje you are very much right. The tribal thing is just on the media and it is here because of the pseudo names. There is no tribalism everywhere I go. Thanks for the words and I am happy with all of you as fellow Zambians.

  6. Cant Lusambo keep quiet if he has nothing to bring forth. Bowman please keep quiet. Your party is weakening each day that passes and all you do is to say lets support Edgar’s appointments even before he finishes making the appoints. So far Edgar has been appointing and he is not done yet not even half is done.

  7. Indeed it politicians who have created This tribal animosité in Zambia. I am kaonde married to a nsenga. M’y elder sister married to a bemba and m’y Young Brother has a tonga girl. We meet once in while and tribe is not an issue.

    • “Northwestern”, I strongly doubt you hail from that province. Do you want everyone to see things your way? Lusambo is making his comment. He is entitled to self opinion. let him exercise his freedom of speech and expression. If you disagree with him say it but do not insult him.

Let us clean Zambia from personal attacks and a culture of insults.
