The season is over for Emmanuel Mayuka at Southampton due to a long-term injury.
Mayuka is nursing a groin injury he sustained at the 2015 Africa Cup that will require surgery.
“He came back from the Africa Cup with some groin problems and normally he would get an operation,” his coach at Southampton Ronald Koeman said.
And when asked if the 2014/2015 season was over for Mayuka, the ex-Dutch star said: “I think so.”
Mayuka suffered the injury during Zambia’s Group B match against Tunisia on January 22.
The striker was stretchered off in the 70th minute just ten minutes after putting Zambia 1-0 ahead before losing 2-1.
Mayuka’s injury could see him miss Zambia’s opening fixture in the 2017 Africa Cup qualifiers when they commence in June.
Too bad for him, but that won’t have any impact on Southampton kaili he is not a regular player
What is groin? If you are kicked in “groin” is it not ku ma To? And surgery ku mabose don’t sound good for young-man.
The career maybe over for hi. too.Who would want to buy a player prone to injuries?
Next time take leave from international duties a year before the Africa cup, so as you earn your keep in England.
In all fairness that turf we were playing was hastily laid… had not settled in hence the serious injury…. I don’t see the boy coming back to the first team; I foresee the club will get rid of him and cut losses rather than keep him on payroll as he is not good enough when you look at the talent have at the moment.
Don’t blame the turf, why was he the only one injured? The problem is that he was the has not been a regular player at Southamptom and with the injury who would risk buying such a player?
….is it not FAZ to care and foot medical bills for the boy….??…let FAZ take him to Israel for a proper surgery…. that is why the ‘big’ teams with ‘big’ stars do not play as expected at AFCON because of fear to injure themselves for a song……see how Ivory Coast struggled to win the cup(23yrs) despite boasting of 100% top players from elite leagues…..
Stop playing for Zambia boy they will finish you off
Careless talk ba London nimina, just wish the young man a quick recovery, all the best
From your friends in Livingstone 2015
i just wounder why Droba and Eto didn’t play for there countries on the just ended Afcon.

iwe why exercise your ignorance in public like that?? dont you know that those players you are mentioning were not selected to play for their National Teams?
My Son,
It’s not over until GOD says i’ts over.
Run to GOD.He holds the KEY to our lives.
With you in prayer
It is the problem when you cheat on your age! These to ma boys have been 22 years old since time indefinite. We know you are 30. Why keep lying. KULAFUNIKA FYE LYONSE!
MAYUKA is untrainable, likula, HOW can an international player injure himself the manner he did , he would have stretched skidding (kutelela) to kick that ball not the way he did he knows he is a ka shot LOZI man how could he stretch his leg to meet the ball
