Republican President Edgar Lungu has been advised to be careful and avoid making radical decisions that will result in him creating many enemies during the period he will serve as the country’s Head of State.
Former Finance Minister Katele Kalumba has counseled President Lungu to remain cautious of the short time he has before seeking re-election in 2016.Dr. Kalumba told QFM News that it is important for the President to keep as many loyalists as possible ahead of 2016.
Dr.Kalumba noted that this is especially that on his way to the presidency, President Lungu went through a highly contested process in the Patriotic Front.He said this means that the President should also try to read politics within his own party before going into the 2016 general elections.
The former MMD National Secretary has further observed that the decision by President Lungu to appoint MMD Members of Parliament (MPs) in his Cabinet is a move which any political tactician would try to do.
Dr Kalumba said by making appointments of opposition MPs to his Cabinet, from two different regions, the President is in fact broadening his political support base.

Katele Kalumba sometimes issue good comments . I was just surprised how he could make such a big miscalculation in the recent polls. Any way I can not blame him age is fast catching up with him.

Katele, you would do better talking on how you are planning to win 2016 with UPND because that is a more important thing for you to do since you were UPND’s Campaign Manager in Luapula. We thought you joined to strengthen UPND because you believed in HH’s leadership but now you are confirming that Lungu’s strategies will win him the 2016 election! We thought you were there to help HH and UPND get the President .So was it just for a while when it looked a bit more likely in recent elections when PF was at its weakest? Katele just miscalculated in Jan. 20 elections. He behaved like Mangani who is regretting having left PF. Mangani should have stayed in PF and withfresh elections coming, he would have won back his seat as chairman for eastern province. His enemy, Kabimba, left before him. it was an opportunity for Mangani to remain in PF. Sad for you Mangani. Donot depend of advice from cadres, but also consult intellectuals who will give you objective advice.
Katele, just concentrate on advising your HH-UPND. Have you changed caamp so soon . Ati ba lap top doctor ….full of miscalculations. Tell your HH that nega-nega formula is waiting for him.

Edgar told us he would preserve sata’s legacy but what i see is preservation of rupiah’s legacy. how do you get advise from someone people rejected and had it not been for the courts,rupiah would have taken eastern therefore, giving HH a clear win. what a shame
