Chipolopolo striker Ronald Kampamba was on Friday night named 2014 Zambian Footballer of the Year during the FAZ- MTN awards ceremony staged at Moba Hotel in Kitwe.
Kampamba, the ex-Nkana striker, landed the award after shrugging off competition from the Zesco United duo of striker Jackson Mwanza and defender Nyambe Mulenga.
The striker from Egyptian club Wadi Degla was making his second attempt at the award which eluded him last year.
Meanwhile, Mwanza found solace in the golden boot award for scoring 15 goals in the FAZ Super League as Nyambe won the President’s award.
Zesco trainer George Lwandamina scooped the coach of the year award while his striker Winston Kalengo won the Most Disciplined Player award.
Zambia Under-23 midfielder Larry Bwalya from Power Dynamos won the Young Player of the Year Award.
Kitwe based FIFA referee Gladys Lengwe beat Jani Sikazwe and Wellington Kaoma to land the Best Referee of the Year Award.
Lengwe has now won the award for a third consective time.
