THE Patriotic Front (PF) has given Chongwe member of Parliament (PF) Sylvia Masebo a seven-day ultimate in which to exculpate herself of allegations of bringing the name of the party into disrepute.
The seven-day period expires today.
PF secretary-general Davies Chama said in an interview yesterday that he wrote to Ms Masebo on February 16 this year to answer allegations of bringing the party into disrepute, using disrespectful language to President Lungu and campaigning against the party.
Last month, Mr Lungu suspended Ms Masebo as PF chairperson for elections for alleged gross indiscipline and replaced her with Emmanuel Mpakata.
“We are waiting for her to exculpate herself because we have already written to her. We wrote to her last week on Monday,” Mr Chama said.
He said although it has been difficult to locate Ms Masebo, the ruling party has asked her to clear her name.
Mr Chama said Ms Masebo’s case will be referred to the disciplinary committee of the central committee, which will decide her fate after the expiration of the seven-day ultimatum.
Efforts to get a comment from Ms Masebo yesterday were futile.
Prior to the January 20 presidential election, Ms Masebo endorsed the candidature of United Party for National Development (UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema.
Ms Masebo told her supporters at one of the rallies to vote for Mr Hichilema because electing Mr Lungu would be a waste of votes.
She also said Zambians would regret for the rest of their lives if they voted for Mr Lungu and accused him of destroying the PF.

I listened to Silvia Masebo speak at many UPND Rallies, I must admit that she is right when she brags that she is a self made politician. She is shrewd, useful and very resolute.
PF will expel Masebo at its own peril. Whatever the difference, just reconcile.

Politicians in Central gov’t take up their roles first and foremost AFTER being granted favour by the citizens of the country in elections. Grubby Masebo is delusional. She was driven by her greed and spite. That can never produce good fruit.

Sylvia Masebo a librarian by profession long lost her marbles when she met one Dick car and drug dealer, as a Zimbabwean looking for fame Zed made her day…she snack into the bossom of politics and found comfort in one wynter once she had her fix she moved on to bigger fish…when RB tumbled she found a new lease of life..but as usual messed up and was only saved by summer kabimba from answering charges for loot eaten during the conference in picture above…
Boza baba her mom was a councillor in Chongwe, Masebos mother was well established and connected in politics way before Sylvia joined politics. Other than politics Mrs Tembo was a very successful and respected commercial farmer.

PF is scared of letting go of her cos they fear losing Chongwe seat to the opposition. Remember in the just ended presidential by election UPND beat PF in Chongwe. HH got 7252 votes and Lungu pulled 6124.
Lungu is now the head of state so the picture on the ground in Chongwe has completely changed. Remember Masebo lost to Mwakalombe if it was not for Mr Sata Masebo would have been history by now.
Rain bow is an after thought party. Let them try with the up coming parliamentary elections. A Party formed out of hate and by a political failure Like Kabimba is doomed to fail.

UPND is popular in all the peri urbans of Lusaka, east, west, south and North. We are making in roads into Lusaka main stream contituencies.
Ms Masebo is the prettiest woman in Zambia.
She is an astute politician, she can woo voters, and extricate their votes. PF will be wise to keep her. Use her in an advisory role. She has a gold deposit (CHUMBWE MINE) in her constituency. Opening up that mine, could reduce Zambia’s dependence on copper.
Permalink, government does not need anyone`s authority to move in on any peace of land to access gold, copper or emeralds.
Clearly Masego has control of the Soli voters. She is a strong and well vissioned person or leader. But indiscipline should never be condoned either in a home, church ,party or any organisation. The people who did that in the opposition or ruling party should be disciplined accordingly.
If such people feel they are above discipline, they should be expelled regardless of whether they have the potential to re-contest and recapture their seats. An action like that would create restraint in people contemplating similar moves.
Silvia is one person that could have contested for PF presidence in 2016 given her capacity. But indiscispline on her part remains her…
