Wanderers takes positives from defeat

Share

Mufulira Wanderers deputy coach Chewe Mulenga says his side will rise after losing their opening 2015 FAZ Super League match to Konkola Blades by 1-0 in Kitwe.

Wanderers missed a series of chances in both halves as Davy Kalandanya scored the vital goal for Blades.

In a post-match interview, Mulenga, who took charge of the team on behalf of the sick head coach Manfred Chabinga, said Wanderers played well despite losing.

He bemoaned the several chances Mighty failed to convert and promised to rectify them ahead their next match.

“Firstly, I want to thank the players, the guys played well although we failed to utilise chances,” Mulenga said.

“It was a nice game and we played well. I am promising that we will catch up and win the next game,” he added.

Mulenga said playing the home game away in Kitwe did not in any way affect Mighty’s display.

“I can’t say it affected us we just have to accept the loss.”

This was Mighty’s first Super League match in ten years.

  1. Lets insure that we win the next game in order to boost the moral in the team and sponsors. We are ready to support the team all the way.

  2. Chabinga was not sick on this day, just tell us the truth.
Next may look tricky since both teams are have just been promoted, but I know Mighty will carry the day. They just have to work on scoring.
