President Edgar Lungu last evening left the country for China for an official working visit.

President Lungu, who is accompanied by First Lady Esther Lungu and his Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations Amos Chanda, left Kenneth Kaunda International Airport at 21:40 hours aboard an Emirate flight.

Mr. Lungu was seen off at the airport by Vice President Inonge Wina, Secretary to the Cabinet Roland Msiska, Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services Chishimba Kambwili and Deputy Minister at State House Mulenga Sata.

Several other cabinet and deputy ministers, permanent secretaries, senior government officials including the defence and security chiefs were also present to see off the head of state.

While in China, President Lungu is expected to address the 2015 Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) annual conference which will be attended by other heads of state and government.

The BFA is the most prestigious and premier forum for leaders in government, business and academia in Asia and other continents held to share visions on the most pressing issues in this dynamic region and the world at large.

President Lungu is also expected to hold a series of high-level bilateral talks with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping before signing bilateral agreements.

He will also meet various Chines investors and the Zambian community living in that country until Wednesday next week.

  1. What can we say, Zambia has no money currently to continue the projects Sata left on the ground. Most of the projects have stalled. About whether he is going there for something else as suggested by other media houses, it does not seem so , or should we say the article doeas not suggest otherwise. In the previous writings it was easy to detect whether the head of state was going out for some other health issues. But what is boring is his continued flying around without concetration on what is eating the heart of ZAMBIA right now. May be the solutions are out there in other counties. Who knows where the ran is lying in a long hole, it could just be on the side of the hole.

  2. Mr Lungu is just going to attend the BFA and the rest of the time will be spent on his treatment. From experience with Sata, once they bring in the words ‘wooing investors’ they actually mean receiving medical treatment. There is no way a sickly and ailing Lungu can attend all that busy schedule.

  3. i think guys lets work hand in hand for us to lift zambia up,we need development not blaming and blaming others if ECL is not fit we are not GOD who gives life and gets it,zambia is becoming a satanic nation now,,,,may GOD help us all.

  4. …How many hours is a direct flight to China excluding refueling time?

Thereafter stand and give a speech

    Various meetings with “infestors”

The man cant manage for 10 continuous days

Medical review is at play here

  5. I actually witnessed the *****’s motorcade drive past UNZA around 21:05 amid heavy security. What a joke this guy is.

    • Why do all these officials have to go to the airport? Do officials go on their own accord or they are told to go? It is crazy really. This needs to stop. Why all the pomp? Leaders of richer countries have two vehicles as escort but not us.

  6. Oooowee ba Esther after throwing herself on the ground at the funeral house in her mind it was “ni kuya ku China”, all that loud weeping was pretence…Can someone give “etiquette training”
