MINISTER of Education, Science, Vocational Training and Early Education Michael Kaingu has apologised to United Party for National Development (UPND) Namwala member of Parliament (MP) Moono Lubezhi for referring to her as ‘Dorika.’

Dr Kaingu said at a press briefing yesterday that he is “sincerely sorry” to Ms Lubezhi for calling her Dorika because he did not know the name is associated with prostitution.

He said he did not call Mr Lubezhi a prostitute as published by The Post and has called on people to ignore the stories the private newspaper is carrying.

“If Dorika has made my colleague feel injured and it means unprintables that we have seen in The Post, I want to totally apologise to my colleague because I did not mean the Dorika that is being portrayed,” Dr Kaingu said.

“If Dorika is associated with prostitution and other unpalatable and unprintable words, I sincerely want to apologise to my friend that I did not mean to injure her,” he said.

Dr Kaingu said he called the Namwala lawmaker Dorika because he has heard other MPs referring to her with the same name.

He said the reference to Ms Lubezhi as Dorika was based on traditional cousinship and he thought it would end there.

Dr Kaingu said he cannot call Ms Lubezhi a prostitute because he does not know her socially and that his relationship with her starts and ends in Parliament.

He said he has never known Ms Lubezhi socially to call her prostitute adding that he has respect for women.

Dr Kaingu said Ms Lubezhi provoked him when she told UPND Kalomo MP Request Muntanga that he already lost his seat in Mwandi by accepting to work with the Patriotic Front (PF).

He said he confronted Ms Lubezhi but he did not call her a prostitute.

    • He was upset with her and called her D*** and then says it was a cousin-ship joke. A mouth full of an apology with a caveat? Hard to believe he was sincere.

    • Kaingu your apology is fake just like you. How do you account for apologizing for something you never said, as you are claiming in the statement above attributed to you. Sure, Kaingu what value are you adding to our society?

    • To all mt UPND fellow supporters, I say lets forgive the man. Trust me, it takes a lot of courage to publicly apologize when you are in the wrong. I believe him and I like him for taking this stance. Hadnt he apologized, I would have lost all former respect for him.

    • Hon. Michael Kaingu…..the moment you you say Dorika…..you are already saying prostitute. Careful my friend with your mouth because this will cause a lot of problems. Remember in the past you tore Sata’s speech on impulse and now using wrong names out out of frustration and not knowing what to say on the floor of the house. People will for give you but they will never forget.

  1. “If” – that is furthering arrogance right there. The best is to just step down. Why are Zambian politicians like ticks!!?? If a term is derogatory why are you using it? Someone’s banter is another one’s insult! Resign and go to etiquette school, Sir. This is not the first time you are playing up like that.

    • If you want to be called honourable, do the right thing. Just resign your and parliament. Your mounth is dirty. What e of policies can we expect from you?

  2. This I.diot can’t resign! He brags about being financially sound but he can’t do without his political position- politics of the belly! Shameless f00l! Call your daughter and your concubines b.itches, not innocent respected women!

  3. She can accept the apology and move on although Kaingu appears very arrogant even when apologising. As the saying goes “Never argue with a ……………, people might not notice the difference. No wonder he is a minister. The remark “I did not know dorika means prostitute and I hear others call her dorika” potray total arrogance. The president ought to act here. Unfortunately, our presidents put political priorities first and retain rotten people in the cabinet for their political survival. That is why africa will remain a “survival for the fittest” continent forever. GOD BLESS ZAMBIA.

    • No my friend, that portrays total fo@lishness. The entire Dr. uses a word whose meaning he does not know?? What a f00l! “…I have heard other people call her….” Darn you! You would not stop to ask what it meant?

You can tell he is not serious man. He’s grabbing twigs, “It was in cousinship….” Yet she annoyed you and you confronted her. What happened to context, Mr. Educated man?

      Bull Crap!

  4. Iris your daughter is Dorika nadaifulila neka, have you seen her pictures in dubai?
For sure you have lost your Mwandi seat not by working with PF but because of your selfishness, lust for women and lack of respect for the people who voted for you.
    Shameless old man

  5. One of the gender activist is on record saying that Kaingu has two wives and he sleeps on one bed with both of them. The “boy” is morally corrupt. The daughter Iris takes after him. One wonders how he managed to get his PHD. He literally struggles just to articulate simple issues, even offering an apology, he has to mumble. Such a Joker is our Minister of Education. Mr. Edgar Lungu, I think we can do better than this.

    • When Kaingu was courting his secondwifehewas encouragedby the first wife. Foolish woman of low self esteem. When he had his second wedding he took both the first and secondwife on honeymoon. Foolish women with issues.so I. Wouldn’t be surprised if he sleeps on thesame bed with both. Foolish, shameless, no self worth women!

  6. Ba Permalink you have got time to say all this don’t you have anything to do apart from writing all this try to go and look for a job at kamwala market if you are in lsk

  7. all UPND women are prostitutes, whores starting from Maureen Mwanawasa, Dorika up to the small caders.
thats why they can march naked across lusaka….why even apologise to such as smelly party?

    • This is the biggest problem with people, even in war times, you don’t shoot a man who has surrendered. The man has apologized, leave him alone. Im still waiting for a formal apology from President Lungu and his vice, Inonge Wina for the way they treated Dr Scott.

Another apology I have never heard was from Kabimba when he refused to give people the constitution Mr Kaingu, he is off the hook and other should emulate his move.

      Thank you.

  8. I think he meant that she looks like Dorika because of her scruffy wigs. Anyway that woman has always been ‘dirty’ in her appearance.

    • You are the only person who has unraveled the truth behind calling her Dorika! we are all too emotional. Only I would like to hear Mr. Kaingu’s comments on his daughter’s pictures. The other thing, I have met Mrs. Kaingu the senior wife who runs their business in Choma, and I was humbled: such good respectable personality; so polite to people and humble.

  9. Why did kainga refer to her as Dorika if Dorica is not her name?

This is a stupid apology. Can Kaingu explain why he called her Dorica or what he meant in using the name Dorica.

  10. Meanignthese so called he pf ministers always dont know the meaning of the remarks they utter? I see now that pf really is a hip of rotten heads!!!!!

By the way this kaingu thing why is he direspecting he women so much?

  11. By the way today we have pictures of your daughter in The Post. Are you again advising us to ignore those pictures like you want us to ignore the story Dorica in the same newspaper?

  12. ….Kaingu must be sick in the head…what does he take us (the public) for..??….what did he have in mind when referring her as ‘Dorika’…??….just few days ago he sworn that he shall not apologise….obviously he has just been pushed to do so…there certainly must be a genetic shame deficiency in the Kaingus family…..I expect this family to humble itself ….walk with their tails in between their legs for a while after that shameful disgracing act cast upon the family by one of their own….I was shocked to see half naked pictures of ‘her’ proving sense of shame deficiency flowing in the Kaingus’ blood….
….as a son or daughter, imagine some dude like Kaingu referring your mother to ‘Dorika’…..or ‘Belinda’…??

  13. When our economy is entering a recession with the kwacha at its weakest and other economic indicators performing poorly, that’s when we have our policy makers wasting our time joking all over the show joined by the media and giving them maximum coverage. What a country! Will we ever be serious a people?

  14. These are the people you call leaders and are supposed to be role models to your children and the education fraternity for that matter. This man has no morals no wonder he always finds himself on the wrong side. The Zambian society is slowly losing its mantle due to these pathetic careless leaders.

  15. ama politics ya ba post newspaper and their rainbow party. umuntu bamwita ati dorica alasumina. you can infer that alemweba ati liule but just report what someone said exactly. if someone is called kim kardashan does that automatically make them a celebrity just because kim is one? No! The heading should have been ‘kaingu calls Lubezhi Dorika’ The problem with UPND and their cadres they are falling into the rainbow trap by following the post news and political agenda. it will not help you. why are you helping kabimba who holds his rallies in post?

  16. Did Kaingu mean the Dorika in Bob Nkosha’s comedy? Dorika in Bob Nkosha’s comedy is a prostitute and illiterate.

  17. What Hon Kaingu has stated in his apology is exactly what I thought over the weekend after I read the purported meaning of Dorika in the Past news tabloid. I have also used the term ‘Dorika’ from a comical point of view without realising the actual meaning of the name. When we refer to Bob Nkosha as Dorika, do you really insult him as a prostitute? I am not aware that Bob gets offended by that, does he?

Come on guys, let’s enjoy our comedy without interference from trouble makers.

Trouble with the Past news is that they are a rubble rousing media, if one follows them one can condemn and hate an innocent person over nothing. For that is what the Past stands for: evil deeds and destruction of trust and friendships, the real life manifestation of the biblical Satan.

    • Since its all a joke to you when women are disrespected, go share the same joke with your mother, aunties, daughter/s, sister etc….not so funny now is it?……I thought so. You are no different from racists who say exactly that when they are caught out….. Its a joke……cant you take a joke…………

  18. Ba UNPD u r o the same. u r o cheap. u r o dorikas, bonse. How can u wash you “dorika” linen in public? Mwanya 2016 is coming, u will o b confined to 1 province chabe. A party fo 1 province, yaba! No national significance.

  19. UPND nearly won the last elections, with decent votes from all provinces. So to you, all those people come from one province olo nibana ba anyoko?

  20. Kaingu must immediately call alangizi (bana chimbusa) to counsel her daughter IRIS KAINGU .. Please Bo Kaingu cage your daughter before she unleash another video in Dubai to the world.By the way it seems Kaingu never reprimanded her daughter about the nipa video with her Zicas boy friend.

    • @Yaba, leave Dr Kaingu out of his daughter’s mischief. There is no parent who would condone something like that. Besides, what is wrong with a young girl showing off her beautiful body at a beach? Don’t act holier than thou, we have all fallen short of God’s glory.

    • Iris has found a way of making money. But she shouldn’t play with Dubai. People have been arrested for kissing. Silly tart.

  21. AS A MINISTER KAINGU IS A POLICY EXTENSION OF THE PRESIDENCY. THERE FOR KAINGUS POSITION REPRESENT THOSE OF GOVERNMENT UNLESS GOVERNMENT DISOWNS THEM AND HIS UTTERANCES. TO THAT EFFECT THE ONLY WAY LUNGU CAN DISASSOCIATE HIMSELF AND HIS GOVERNMENT FROM KAINGU IS NO REQUEST AND ACCEPT HIS RESIGNATION. APOLOGY IS DUELY NOTED AND IT IS UPTO TO THE VICTIM TO ACCEPT IT OR NOT. FOR LUNGU DIGNITY IS ONLINE THE LINE. IS THE PF A GOVERNMENT THAT WANTS TO MARGINALIZE WOMEN UNLESS THEY REPRESENT SOME POLITICAL CAPITAL LIKE WINA AND LUO OR IS THE PF SERIOUS ABOUT GENDER EQUALITY AND SENSITIVITY. ITS TIME TO BREAK THE CIRCLES OF ABUSE.KAINGU MUST GO

  22. To all members of parliament especially those in the opposition you need to show solidarity and sensitivity on this issue. GET TOGATHER AND DRAFT A LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT SIGNED BY EACH ONE OF YOU DEMANDING DISCIPLINARY ACTION. LET THE PRESIDENT KNOW THAT YOU INTEND TO BOYCOTT ANY ADDRESS THAT KAINGU WILL MAKE AND YOU WILL WALK OUT OF THE HOUSE EACH TIME KAINGU ATTEPMTS TO ADDRESS THE HOUSE AS MINISTER. HE CAN MAINTAIN HIS MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT STATUS AND THAT WILL BE UPTO THE VOTERS OF HIS CONSTITUENCY. WE DON’T HAVE TO ACCEPT SUCH DEMEANING AND DISRESPECTFUL CONDUCT FROM A MINISTER. MAKE IT KNOWN. KAINGU MUST GO!

  23. ‘bla bla bla budget like a beautiful woman with HIV’ – Apology; ‘bla bla bla Dorika’ – Apology; shredding Sata’s speech – Apology
