The Zambia Tourism Board has described this year’s Livingstone International Cultural and Arts (LICAF) which ran from March 26-28 as a success.
Zambia Tourism Board Managing Director Felix Chaila said in an interview in Livingstone that LICAF 2015 has scored tremendous progress since the festival was introduced last year.
Mr Chaila said the number of countries participating in LICAF has continued to grow and the cultural and arts offering during the festival has also improved.
He said ZTB has recognised the unique role that culture plays in tourism development hence the need to focus on LICAF as a way of attracting tourists to Livingstone.
Mr Chaila said the Zambia Tourism Board is looking forward to making LICAF a key calendar event for both domestic and international tourists.
He also observed that LICAF offers an opportunity for cultural and business exchanges among participating nations.
Mr Chaila said preparations for the next year’s LICAF which will run from March 17-19 2016 have since commenced with a number of countries having already confirmed participation.
