Opposition MMD youths have called on Zambian politicians to emulate the morality British politicians have exhibited following that general election.
MMD National youth Secretary Bowman Lusambo is calling upon politicians in the country to particularly take lessons from how UK political party leaders have been magnanimous to resign after losing in an election in which British Prime Minister David Cameron emerged victorious.
Mr Lusambo says political leaders such MMD’s Nevers Mumba, UPND’s Hakainde Hichilema and FDD’s Edith Nawakwi should give way for others to take up the leadership mantle following their defeat in the 20th January president election.
Mr. Lusambo says these leaders should understand that the country is not short of leaders.
Speaking this morning at a media briefing held in Lusaka, Mr. Lusambo has explained that by listing his party’s president among other political leaders that should emulate the British politicians, it does not mean that MMD youths are passing a vote of no confidence in Dr. Mumba.
He however, states that the former ruling party currently needs total reconciliation that should be attained by all party members coming together to convene a convention.
Mr Lusambo says this entails the holding of a convention is currently inevitable for the former ruling party.
He says this is especially that the MMD is still strong and needs all party members that have gone astray under the leadership of Dr. Mumba.
And Mr. Lusambo has hailed President Edgar Lungu’s four months in office.
He says MMD youths believe the President is on the right track and should continue leading the country in the manner he has been doing.
Free Zambia any one can say anything once full of money from propagandists. If I may ask Lusambo, How long has he been the head of the youth wing in MMd? He is not even ashamed to ask his presidentsáspirants to step down. He should first remove the LOG that is in his eye. Step down Lusambo and give that seat to the other Youths, not knowing whether you are still a Youth anyway.

While Bowman may have some valid points the truth is by making this statement he is trying to distance himself from Nervous Mumba an appease EL and RB with the hope of being adopted PF parliamentary candidate for Kabushi come 2016. Mark my words this is all part of his strategy. He will retain his position as MMD youth chairperson for has long as possible so that he can have a platform to speak from..then at the opportune time he will ditch MMD to be adopted by PF. I have carefully watched his rise…he is an ambitious fellow but because he lack integrity he cannot be trusted. Two years ago he claimed to be leader of the MMD die hard youth, which he admitted was not part of the official party structure. Before anyone could blink he was claiming to be MMD youth chairperson. HOW??
Yes, the performance of FDD and MMD candidates in the last elections was very poor but not of UPND who lost by a small margin. All the same, it is not for Mr Lusambo to tell the leaders to resign. And this guy enjoys more coverage than opposition party presidents….WHY??

That indeed is a good example but let’s not forget that elections in Europe are conducted in a JUST MANNER and are usually free and fair. In Zambia it’s very difficult for one to accept defeat when most of the elections are characterized by vote buying, electrical violence, electrical intimidation, rigging and all sorts of vices!!
I applaud the UK opposition party leaders for their move. It is accepting defeat graciously and passing on the baton to someone to continue the race. Here is the difference with our Zambian Opposition leaders. The Ed Millibands of the UK are not in politics to be rich. They want to make a difference in the country. Their resignation shows acceptance that maybe the electorate is not ready for them. Politics here are different. Guess what number 1 priority is? Get rich! Some of these people are so used to being fed by public funds so how does one resign?

Why should a one person manage two positions-one office and Minister of Defense. What does the Law say on this. How long should the position of MoD remain in the hands of one office. It is unfair, the salary being drawn as MoD can help reduce unemployment——–if another person is appointed as MoD, there will be chain reaction down to the streets of Lusaka, Chifubu, Navutika…….at least one will get employed. Being selfish is inhuman……….let another person get a job from the street.
