Share

POLICE in Sichili in Mulobezi constituency have recovered two offensive weapons and apprehended 19 people in connection with the violence that happened in the area on 29th June 2015.

This happened after the UPND cadres mobilised themselves and gave chase to a Toyota Hilux Reg. No. ABF 2741 which they suspected to have been carrying the people who were involved in yesterday’s shooting.

The cadres who were using two vehicles Registration Numbers ALZ 2695 and ALZ 1106 impounded the Toyota Hilux and drove it to their camp where they later extensively damaged it.

Officers who made a follow up on the case found the three vehicles parked at the UPND camp and upon searching, one of the vehicles was found with two brand new machetes.

The 19 include the driver of the vehicle where the machetes were found and the UPND Campaign manager. Investigations into the matter have continued.

Meanwhile, more officers have been sent to the area to beef-up security.

Police spokesperson Charity Chanda said currently the situation is calm and people should
not be afraid of the heavy presence of the officers as they are there to maintain law and order.

  1. The whole world knows it’s a planned move by PF . We aren’t dull like ZP , so LT please bring real news . 50 years still making one road called great East road ? Any plan what’s happening with ZESCO now ? We need electricity , still waiting for the constitution . You bandits in PF when is CBU opening again ? If this was point of independence ! Please never repeat it again .

  2. How can pangas that were in parked vehicles and were not being brandished be classified as offensive? Others party cadres actually use them but are never arrested. Selective policing at its worst.

    • How can 19 people share two pangas? besides they are saying brand new, meaning they have never been used. I also move with one in my car just in I have a break down I can use it to cut fire wood for my warmth. Am I at risk of arrest? Under what law?

  3. When is chama been arrested??thats a foolish story to write ba LT . 12 months to go , RB regime , FTJ regime , Lungu / Sata regime next home jail . We all know you bandits , if this bandits win again ! Meaning education in Zambia is really low and should close all education institutions .15 million Zambians were told I have know vision and still voted for him . Mulenga Sata , Henry Banda and father start running now .

  4. Typical of UPND kind of behaviour. This what this under 5 party does in its so called strong holds. They have had good reception in EP, but look how they behave in Mulobezi. This is same party that has been accusing other parties of violence and yet it themselves who a violent party. “If you live in a glass house do not throw stones” goes the saying.

Mature up UPND. See how other people behave in a civilised mabber in other areas. Are you not the one claiming to be more educated and rich? How come you exhibit Zinjathropical behaviour?

  5. Zambia Police is foolish and *****. They are not in the country to promote peace or balance when it comes in politics. PF are shooting UPND supporters but none has been arrested. But wen UPND try to defend themselves to move wis a small weapon they stand like a bee that want to sting somebody. Shame on ZP

  6. Only 2 machetes recovered by madam IG’s so called “professional police” these two machetes caused all the mayhem we have heard in mulobezi, these two machetes even turned into guns and 3 three people were shot at, machetes are are now so deadly and offensive yet they are being sold indiscriminately in the streets of lusaka, am just wondering what our “professional police” will do about these offensive weapons. Even the police are now deceptive maggots too, and are now entangled in this smear campaign by pf.

    • If there is any truth to the story, then the UPND meant to defend themselves from the PF mafias who have been using guns against them. The police need to be more professional and less partisan. Why are they letting the perpetrators of the Mulobezi violence go scot-free and turn their venom on the victims? What is happening to Zambia?

    • @ 5.1 Chiti

Do you expect Zambia Police officers to be professional? Lilayi is a lousy police training school so do not expect people who went through that school to be professional. They will always be partisan.

  7. Police trying to help pf win, even a child can see the foolish plan, why is pf trying hard to win mulobezi by hook or crook, why?

  8. All cadres are as bad as one another. The police are proving they are doing their job successfully in the face of all these challenges.

    • patriot aboard
You are blind, a fool and an
i d i o t for not seeing this for exactly what it is, The police belong to PF and are at PFs beck and call. UPND is the treat to PF so they will continue to get the heat.

  9. Those shooting are left free. Tools and weapons found lying idle you pick up persons nearby, I can’t understand this logic.

  10. Dunderhead female police offensive officers! Zambia has no police to be proud of they are pf cadres.

  11. Zambians need to rise up against such conduct by police. Where is the anticipated looming UPND – police clash the police were preaching. So, now that the intelligent UPND intelligence abated it, the DC resorted to shooting people and the police see brand new pangas as being more offensive than guns? WORSE THAN A POLICE STATE!

  12. Violence is a no no for both ruling and the opposition parties. The Lord tests and proves the [unyieldingly] righteous, but His soul abhors the wicked and him who loves violence Psalm 11:5. Do not resentfully envy and be jealous of an unscrupulous, grasping man, and choose none of his ways Proverbs 3:31. These six things the Lord hates, indeed, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look [the spirit that makes one overestimate himself and underestimate others], a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
A heart that manufactures wicked thoughts and plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, A false witness who breathes out lies [even under oath], and he who sows discord among his brethren. Proverbs 6:16-19

  14. The useless PF police are quick to arrest the opposition but not to arrest PF cadres who have shot innocent people. UPND have the right to have any weapon at their disposal to protect themselves from PF who’re violet to them. With the useless PF police who keep a blind eye to PF violence, I too would have a weapon to protect myself. They also have a right to arrest the driver of the vehicle which shot at their cadres.

  15. How come since time come Jesus we have never seen PF cadres been arrested is it because Boma ni Boma bo Edgar watch out Zambians are alert and not sleeping.
