Promotion chasing Roan United on Wednesday maintained their third position on the FAZ Division One North table after beating Kalulushi Modern Stars 1-0 in the away Week 20 match in Kalulushi.
Midfielder Lazarous Chishimba scored the goal after 43 minutes as Roan relegated Kalulushi from the top spot into second position on the table.
Kalulushi came into this game unbeaten in four games and drop from first to second after the defeat.
Roan have now increased their tally to 35 points, seven behind new leaders Lumwana Radiants.
Roan and Kalulushi were demoted in 2014 and 2013 respectively.
Meanwhile, Lumwana bounced back to the top of the FAZ Division One North table after edging Copperbelt Buffaloes 1-0 at Lumwana Grounds on Wednesday to open a three point lead.
The Allan Kamwanga-coached side replaces Kalulushi at the top after the latters’ home loss to Roan United.
Forward Rodgers Munkenge scored the solitary goal just before the half time break as Lumwana moved to 42 points as at Week 20.
Kalulushi remain stuck on 39 points after 20 games.
Other teams that recorded wins in midweek games are Gomes Wanderers, Kitwe United, FQMO Operations and Mining Rangers.
In Division One South, leaders Kabwe Warriors recovered from last Saturday’s 2-0 loss at Nampundwe to thump visiting Kalomo Jetters 3-1 in Kabwe.
Warriors top the table with 47 points while second placed Lusaka Tigers have 40 points after a 2-2 home draw with City of Lusaka.
