HH, Mwine Lubemba and GBM

Paramount Chief Chitimukulu of the Bemba speaking people has congratulated Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba on his appointment as UPND Vice President.

The Mwine-Lubemba made the remarks at his palace when UPND President Hakainde Hichilema who was flanked by Mr. Mwamba and other party officials paid a courtesy call on him.

His Royal Highness stated that the appointment of GBM is an honour to the Bembaland.

And Mwine Lubemba has insisted that GBM sacrificed a lot towards his chieftainship during the stand-off between the Bemba Royal Establishment and the PF government.

Meanwhile, Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba popularly known as GBM expressed happiness that finally Henry Kanyanta Sosala will be installed as Paramount Chief Chitimukulu.

Mr. Mwamba charged that he stood for the recognition of Henry Kanyanta Sosala hence his resignation from government as Defence Minister in order to safeguard the Bemba tradition.

And UPND President Hakainde Hichilema said that it is unfortunate that the PF government unnecessarily delayed the installation of Henry Kanyanta Sosala.

“We are all happy that what we fought for in calling the PF government to recognise His Royal Highness Henry Kanyanta Sosala as the Chitimukulu has finally been achieved despite the humiliation he was subjected to. My friend GBM had to leave the comforts of his office as Defence Minister and joined the fight. We are finally on the path to once more realise the spirit of one Zambia one People,” Mr Hichilema said.

    • What’s wrong with Mwine Lubemba congratulating GBM.
He will do the same to Inonge for being the first female veep on saturday.
I’m sure he will congratulate Chris Katongo for winning Afcon if he visits.
That’s what a leader does. He will also criticize what he thinks is wrong, it wouldn’t matter to him who does the wrong.
Let’s start seeing things beyond “them & us”.

    • Twachula pafula! Let’s try already rich people now to help the nation prosper. We have been trying poor people and they have let us down. RB from kumunzi muvibbudula only concentrated on making himself rich with his son. Sata started this rampant kaloba culture by government and after 3 years, we are in +$10billion dollar kaloba. Lungu, a lawyer living in Chawama has followed suit true to what he said when he was campaigning- “I’m visionless and only following in Sata’s footsteps”. Let us try HH and GBM who already have the money that would make any person corrupt once in power as they will concentrate on developing the nation and not making themselves rich.

    • HH has bent down too far! Bembas are greeted with a small bend in the knee while standing fully upright. There’s no respect among these thieves.

    • @ 1.5 Buck Teeth Lungu. Has rat eating given you brain damage? When proper Bembas greet their chiefs they do what we call ukukunkula – lying down on your side while clapping. The ones greeted with a small bend in the knee while standing are commoners like you.

  2. Wow, every Zambian can see the wind of change.

There is nothing this PF govt has done, except stealing and enriching themselves. The Kwacha is now useless, the trade deficit is widening, interest rates are extremely high, no power, no medicines…the list is endless. All they know is to build sub-standard roads even where people do not even need roads but need food and fertiliser and medicines. The only priority is roads because that is where they can steal through their PF run construction companies. No wonder our roads are the most expensive in the world. They inflate everything!

The writing is on the wall! PF is going out! They may try using tribalism, but Zambians can see through that! PF’s onlys message is tribalism & violence because they can’t think and find solutions…

    • Be aware that PF is employing tribalism tool to defeat UPND. Open your eyes. Only a fool can say that Tongas practice tribalism. It is true to conclude that few people from all tribes of Zambia practice tribalism. To be honest we need to question PF and UPND how they will raising 3/4 of the money locally to develop this nation and how they will ensure that that money is used wisely and effectively. Borrowing a lot of money from outside will not facilitate industrialization but will lead us into bondage. Zambia has all resources including human resources to achieve industrialization. If only the government can listen to Zambian citizens who have great practical ideas Zambia could be heading towards success. Lets give credit where it is due, not to tribalism

  3. Ba Kanabesa Mwine-Lubemba, in one breath you are telling us not to politicise your coronation and in the other you are telling us that the appointment of GBM is an honour to the Bembaland. Should I take this as your indirect way of endorsing UPND?

    • Do a content analysis…. GBM’s money is still pulling the strings at Lusakatimes.
Mwine-Lubemba can’t and did not make those remarks. He is just too smart to lower himself to the cheap politics of chair-nalism by the editors at Lsktimes!

  4. Very slowly Zambians will know why Sata did not want this man installed. He thinks he is very educated for political staff. Those of us who have been close to the throne know that he actually did not follow the Bemba tradition to be at Chitimukulu. Ask. Where was Chanda Mukulu and where is she now. If you answer this question, then you know why Sata objected to his becoming a Chitimukulu. GBM is a direct grandson hence his interest in the throne as if this Sosala dies he is in the line to be next Chiti and with his money anything is possible in this stupid kingdom

    • My understanding is that it’s GBM’s father who was from the Bemba royal family. Since the Bembas are matrilineal, GBM cannot become a chief. Apart from Sosala’s arrogance, it is true that Sata objected to the way he was chosen as Chitimukulu and how tradition was ignored although some ignorant people bring in the Bisa nonsense.

  6. LUNGU MUST BE FIRED NEXT YEAR. WITH THE UPCOMING OF WYNTER AND NOW BROKEN PF STRUCTURES IN NORTHERN PROVINCE COUPLED WITH THE WORSE MANAGEMENT CAPABILITY THE COUNTRY HAS EVER EXPERIENCED. THERE IS NO WAY LUNGU OR ANY PF CANDIDATE SHOULD WIN THE ELECTION WITHOUT MASSIVE VOTE RIGGING. THIS WHY HE CAN CLAIM TO BE AT THE FINISH LINE ALMOST 13 MONTHS BEFORE THE RACE. PEOPLE SHOULD WATCH OUT ESPECIALLY THESE DICTATORS HE HAS BEEN VISITING LATELY. LUNGU MUST BE FIRED NEXT YEAR.

    • You will be surprised ECL will be given another term. The person you should be worried of is your friend who will definitely be babtised with another fail next year.

Remember to win an election you will need a lot of CHIMWELA in urban areas of LUSAKA and CB. You don’t have that. Secondly, EP and SP will cancel each other out in terms of voting pattern and that leaves you with no sufficient areas to amass the votes from to win. PF still has alot of safe havens, MP, NP and Luapula and a combination of these votes surpasses any other remaining combination if you exclude LUSAKA and CB. So really I would advise you to sober up and just concede that 2016 is a forgone conclusion.

    • Sinazeze Bullet, Lungu won by less than 1% and at that time there was massive voter apathy. Believe me that this time 90% of the electorate will vote and I would advise you to worry because when a lot of people got to vote, they go to vote for change.

  7. What ever the chief says has no influence on the voters. The last Chitimukulu campaigned vigorously for RB to the extent of threatening to expel from his kingdom those supporting the opposition. The rest is history.

  8. There is a very big Cartel here involving Sosala, GBM and HH on one hand and another Cartel: RB, Dora and ALUNGU. Zambia is a country of Cartels. It’s a case of which cartel you belong to.

  11. i am salivating at the Kasama Central Bye Election. its coming when the eurobond has landed against a GBM who single handedly bankrolls all manner of scums to fight his battles. Government would want to lose this election because doing so is condemning itself to being out of power come next year. on the other hand, a win for UPND will be a psychological boost to their chances of swaying voters up north come next year. my worry is that 3/4 of the eurobond will be wasted and secondly violence of unimaginable proportions ever to be meted on people in any election will be a daily dosage. at the end of the day whoever will win is not doing so for the people but to massage their egos and have bragging rights.

  12. There is no opposition in Zambia, it ended at Great Micheal, all we have are comedians who are immitating Sata though they can never be. PF more years. A Leader is seen through his contributions to the well being of the nation not just critising without offering solutions/alternatives.

  14. Mwine Lubemba has not exercised the greatest of diplomacy and tact here. On a personal level, that might be overlooked by observers as a mild transgression, however it is clear, this is a political statement meant to show his true colours to PF. The man harbours resentment.

PF might now have reason to regret its treatment of Luo. Removing her from her Chifes and Traditions Ministerial portfolio to placate this childish primitive man whose first act I on taking the throne is to throw water in the face of PF by overt support of the controversial GBM cannot be seen as anything other than support for UPND. Again we see Chiefs meddling in Central gov’t politics trying to affect elections outcome.

This man us beyond indecent. So e of these Chiefs are turning into nightmares.

    • How much power and influence do we need to allow Chiefs in Zambian Politics? It seems they try to leverage their positions to get things done in their region rather than understand that they must be part of gov’t development plans and must support gov’t of the day.

We now have a multi-complex landscape in our political system. We have different Party and chiefs all causing dissent. This is not democracy but a certain path to internal war.

Zambia needs strong and dynamic Presidential Office and the rest must dovetail into a proper parliamentary adversarial system. Currently, we have leading opposition leaders blatantly refusing to recognise the Office of the President. Undermining gov ‘t all the way using backward language and conduct.

  16. Mwemfumu yesu, please stay out of politics and let the subjects respect the chiefdom. We are live to the fact that your installation as Chiti Mukulu is because of the faithfulness and truth of H.E. Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu who promised to recognize you as Chiti Mukulu which he has done. If you have forgotten, us the voters especially in the Northern part of Zambia cannot betray PF and Mr. Lungu come rain come sunshine.

Some of those people like GBM and HH are doing this and later they will be insulting you that its their money that did this and that, we know them. Ulubemba is where our fore father and founder of PF Mr. Sata comes from and we cannot throw that away. Wisdom is better than silver and gold?
We will vote for Mr. Lungu and PF now and in 2016 and you cant do anything.

    • @20, You say you will vote with wisdom. Do you think Sata would have been in bed with Ruphia Banda, like ECL? It is ECL who has abandoned Sata’s vision and got rid of Guy Scott. He is currently busy failing to manage the economy. I think if we want to vote wisely, we will vote for a future for our children, not based on some misguided loyalty to PF or ECL.

    • @21 Macbilly. I know it is difficult, but try to think just a bit. GBM & HH have just as much right to be in Northern Province as you have to be anywhere. You seem to be a tribalist, together with Chama. Come 2016, we will have a new president. Whether you like it or not.

  19. NORTHERN PROVINCE UPND RUBBISH

The entire Northern Province UPND is trash! That UPND is only known to HH and his PF turncoats like GBM not us in Kalomo! Lessons will be learnt by those celebrating over a reject from PF. We all know this man from the time he mismanaged his own workers, mistreated his own wives and publicly ridiculed our party UPND including our blind leader HH. In Jan 2015 we borrowed all sorts of crooks from other parties because of HH’s inferiority complex and lost even with vast mobilization on the ground. Some of us lost our last ngwee for the love of UPND and now we cant even have a decent meal. I strongly believe this GBM has been sent by very advanced intelligent systems to create a rift in our Party. HH must leave us now! Mother Mutinta advise us please.

  21. @ Munzamai

You are sick, period. You want HH to perpetuate his leadership in UPND when he is not winning. Read the times you SOMETHING. If you are not UPND stop your posts because our bitterness is so immense we need constructive ideas on how to make our party form government come 2016. We have great men and women to make us victorious but because of such “wamuyaya” theorists like you, we are in such a mess until a think tank comes through for us!

  22. UPND here we come…Once we strategize and choose a winning candidate 2016 is ours….We are working round the clock…I don’t care who posts what…UPND must win come 2016….But of course we are careful on candidature once beaten?….

  23. WE NEED CHANGE IN UPND

“I love my work, I think I am a pretty good president, if I run I can win but law is law. I wonder why people want to stay long. No one should be president for life.” Obama at the AU.

Learning from Obama, the following undemocratic clause needs to be repealed in our manifesto:

Article 79- “A party president shall be eligible for election for an indefinite period subject to the constitution, provided that a party president who is elected Republican president shall only serve two terms that shall run concurrently with the term of office as president.”

I have been insulted, but when we form government with my recommendations I will be your hero. HH must give others chance.
