Paramount Chief Chitimukulu of the Bemba speaking people has congratulated Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba on his appointment as UPND Vice President.
The Mwine-Lubemba made the remarks at his palace when UPND President Hakainde Hichilema who was flanked by Mr. Mwamba and other party officials paid a courtesy call on him.
His Royal Highness stated that the appointment of GBM is an honour to the Bembaland.
And Mwine Lubemba has insisted that GBM sacrificed a lot towards his chieftainship during the stand-off between the Bemba Royal Establishment and the PF government.
Meanwhile, Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba popularly known as GBM expressed happiness that finally Henry Kanyanta Sosala will be installed as Paramount Chief Chitimukulu.
Mr. Mwamba charged that he stood for the recognition of Henry Kanyanta Sosala hence his resignation from government as Defence Minister in order to safeguard the Bemba tradition.
And UPND President Hakainde Hichilema said that it is unfortunate that the PF government unnecessarily delayed the installation of Henry Kanyanta Sosala.
“We are all happy that what we fought for in calling the PF government to recognise His Royal Highness Henry Kanyanta Sosala as the Chitimukulu has finally been achieved despite the humiliation he was subjected to. My friend GBM had to leave the comforts of his office as Defence Minister and joined the fight. We are finally on the path to once more realise the spirit of one Zambia one People,” Mr Hichilema said.

There is nothing this PF govt has done, except stealing and enriching themselves. The Kwacha is now useless, the trade deficit is widening, interest rates are extremely high, no power, no medicines…the list is endless. All they know is to build sub-standard roads even where people do not even need roads but need food and fertiliser and medicines. The only priority is roads because that is where they can steal through their PF run construction companies. No wonder our roads are the most expensive in the world.They inflate everything!

Be aware that PF is employing tribalism tool to defeat UPND. Open your eyes. Only a fool can say that Tongas practice tribalism. It is true to conclude that few people from all tribes of Zambia practice tribalism. To be honest we need to question PF and UPND how they will raising 3/4 of the money locally to develop this nation and how they will ensure that that money is used wisely and effectively. Borrowing a lot of money from outside will not facilitate industrialization but will lead us into bondage. Zambia has all resources including human resources to achieve industrialization. If only the government can listen to Zambian citizens who have great practical ideas Zambia could be heading towards success. Lets give credit where it is due, not to tribalism

My understanding is that it’s GBM’s father who was from the Bemba royal family. Since the Bembas are matrilineal, GBM cannot become a chief. Apart from Sosala’s arrogance, it is true that Sata objected to the way he was chosen as Chitimukulu and how tradition was ignored although some ignorant people bring in the Bisa nonsense.

Remember to win an election you will need a lot of CHIMWELA in urban areas of LUSAKA and CB. You don’t have that. Secondly, EP and SP will cancel each other out in terms of voting pattern and that leaves you with no sufficient areas to amass the votes from to win. PF still has alot of safe havens, MP, NP and Luapula and a combination of these votes surpasses any other remaining combination if you exclude LUSAKA and CB. So really I would advise you to sober up and just concede that 2016 is a forgone conclusion.

i am salivating at the Kasama Central Bye Election. its coming when the eurobond has landed against a GBM who single handedly bankrolls all manner of scums to fight his battles. Government would want to lose this election because doing so is condemning itself to being out of power come next year. on the other hand, a win for UPND will be a psychological boost to their chances of swaying voters up north come next year. my worry is that 3/4 of the eurobond will be wasted and secondly violence of unimaginable proportions ever to be meted on people in any election will be a daily dosage. at the end of the day whoever will win is not doing so for the people but to massage their egos and have bragging rights.

Mwine Lubemba has not exercised the greatest of diplomacy and tact here. On a personal level, that might be overlooked by observers as a mild transgression, however it is clear, this is a political statement meant to show his true colours to PF. The man harbours resentment.
PF might now have reason to regret its treatment of Luo. Removing her from her Chifes and Traditions Ministerial portfolio to placate this childish primitive man whose first act I on taking the throne is to throw water in the face of PF by overt support of the controversial GBM cannot be seen as anything other than support for UPND. How much power and influence do we need to allow Chiefs in Zambian Politics? It seems they try to leverage their positions to get things done in their region rather than understand that they must be part of gov’t development plans and must support gov’t of the day.
We now have a multi-complex landscape in our political system. We have different Party and chiefs all causing dissent. This is not democracy but a certain path to internal war.
Zambia needs strong and dynamic Presidential Office and the rest must dovetail into a proper parliamentary adversarial system. Currently, we have leading opposition leaders blatantly refusing to recognise the Office of the President. Undermining gov ‘t all the way using backward language and conduct.
This is just another job for secret service.

Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu who promised to recognize you as Chiti Mukulu which he has done. If you have forgotten, us the voters especially in the Northern part of Zambia cannot betray PF and Mr. Lungu come rain come sunshine.

The entire Northern Province UPND is trash! That UPND is only known to HH and his PF turncoats like GBM not us in Kalomo! Lessons will be learnt by those celebrating over a reject from PF. We all know this man from the time he mismanaged his own workers, mistreated his own wives and publicly ridiculed our party UPND including our blind leader HH.
