PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu yesterday failed to fly out of the Solwezi Airport after his Presidential chopper developed a mechanical fault.
Mr Lungu had to use his motorcade to pay a courtesy call on Chief Matebo where fresh arrangements to fly the President together with his entourage were made.
State House security detail moved President Lungu into the newly acquired Mi171E military chopper which he used for the rest of the campaign.
President Lungu explained to senior Chief Mumena of the Kaonde speaking people of Solwezi that it was not his intention to pay a courtesy call out of the planned schedule.
“Your Royal Highness senior chief Mumena please accept my apologies for coming late to meet you at the palace. We had a mechanical fault and the chopper failed to start. So we came by road. Your royal highness I hope you will bear with us,” President Lungu said.
Later the Presidential chopper was seen at Mukumbi School grounds but President Lungu decided to go with the Mi171E military chopper.
And President Lungu assured the people of senior chief Mukumbi that he would do everything to ensure that they were part of the development processes of the country.
He said Zambia could easily develop if hate and bitterness were discarded.
President Lungu said Zambia was a great nation but was experiencing high levels of poverty because of bickering and the imability to ensure that those in leadership delivered.

Please give yourself and the chopper a rest and concentrate on solving the many problems your leadership has brought upon the people of Zambia rather than being in the air every time. No wonder it developed a fault!
Yes even machines get tired, that chopper has been neglected just like anybody and anything in Zambia. Just praise God that the fault didn’t happen in the air, or they could have blamed the opposition.
Had the mechanical fault happen in mid-air, we would have been talking about elections in 90 day. That would have been bad and/or good…. I’m not wishing Lungu death but we need change, things are bad in the country.

But no change will also bring in more suffering……….why because ba CK says the economic challenges will only be solved by Jesus. Without fear or favour, the level of suffering we have gone through the last seven month is unprecedented……It is a record in the History of the country.
Lungu Using a military chopper for campaigns. And this is okay in Zambia. These are government resources he is using for party campaigns, thereby giving himself an unfair advantage

That chopper is likely to drop off the sky soon careful with these Chinese things you like buying how can it develop a fault was it not serviced before that long trip or is it being over used? Sit in your office and sort out the many problems the country is facing hence your rides refusing to start they are not impressed at all the kaonde people don’t mess about.

ln this life time, can Mmembe compare himself to Edgar Lungu at any level? What’s better a homosexual or a drunkard? I have read Mmembe’s editorial. He is accusing ECL of lying about Mmembe seeking to meet him at state house to seek favours from him. The meeting did not take place, so how did ECL know that Mmembe wanted favours with regard to the DBZ loan? I think Mmembe might be right here. He has also challenged ECL to provide evidence. Surely there should be some CCTV footage of Mmembe at least. From what ECL said about Mmembe & what Kambwili said on Sunday Interview about Mmembe, I can see that Govt is trying to find some reason to destroy him by some underhand means. Leave him alone!

The statement is not only worrying but it also confirms that the Zambian leadership held by people who are just in positions to eat and not to work. This president must stop being soft. He should start pushing his ministers and permanent secretaries for results.

In reverse, When Mwanawasa was still the President, Mmembe got lots of favours from Minister Magande that’s also how they managed to defaulted on their tax obligations and managed defraud a syndicate of Banks.

I’m waiting for dossier from a male white scandevian who lived in lusaka Zambia on a volunteer programme and stayed at the backpackers in Rhodespark.
