Zesco disconnect Power Dynamos to retain title

Share

Zesco United have retained their FAZ Super Division crown with three games to spare after a 3-0 home win over Power Dynamos on Wednesday at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

Zesco have reached an unassailable 64 points that second placed Zanaco cannot breach after they drew 1-1 away at Nkwazi on Wednesday afternoon.

Goals from Cletus Chota in the 47th minute, John Chingandu in the 90th minute and Winston Kalengo three minutes later handed Zesco their fifth league title to mnove within one win of Power’s six crowns.

Zesco are now in line for a double if they can also retain the Barclays Cup starting with this weekend’s semifinal date against Green Buffaloes at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.

Zanaco and Power are 2nd and 3rd on 54 and 51 points respectively with the battle between them now solely for that number two spot that guarantees CAF Confederation Cup football in the 2016 season.

  1. Hard luck buffalos anyway play hard in the next game and keep the fourth position so that it can be a platform for winning the league title next year

  2. Too bad for the MTN/FAZ SUPER LEAGUE to end to day, i don’t even see any sence for KALAMPA & Napusa to play tomoro coz IFINGUBALA has made Zambian league to end today. “Kwena nangu ba ZESCO ba kali whole three (3) games giving out POINTS to one team this season (2015) kwena nangu ama shilu kuti ya teyako bwino watimo mu CAF & same club wanted to represent mother Zambia in CAF games”.

  3. Tumelo, uleikale fye…who told you that the league has finished?

There is more tom play foe especially for Power & Zanaco plus the teams that are facing demotion…
