George Lwandamina says his super-subs must like any other player convince him for a place in the starting XI for this weekends 2016 CAF African Nations Championship(CHAN) qualifier final leg decider against hosts Mozambique in Maputo.
Zambia head to Maputo with a healthy 3-0 first leg win picked up last Saturday at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Winston Kalengo and two substitutes Conlyde Luchanga and Spencer Sautu secured Zambia’s vital first leg win with a goal each in the last 15 minutes of the second half.
Sautu replaced Kennedy Mudenda in the 58th minute to later score Zambia’s final goal in stoppage time .
Luchanga came on for Festus Mbewe in the 73rd minute to cap his debut with a goal seven minutes later after Kalengo had put Zambia ahead in the 77th minute.
“It will depend on their input during the training period. We still have a few more days prepare,” Lwandamina said.
“So if they prove worthwhile to be in the team they are likely to start or go back to the bench or worse still, in the stands.”
Meanwhile, Zambia resumed training for the final leg in Lusaka on Tuesday.
A draw this weekend will see Zambia qualify to the CHAN finals for the first time since 2009 after tumbling in the race for the 2011 and 214 tournament.
CHAN is a second tier Africa Cup tournament exclusively for domestic league based players that was launched in 2009.
Zambia won Bronze at the inaugural tournament hosted by Cote d’Ivoire seven years ago.
