Zambia Vs Sudan
Zambia Vs Sudan

Last weekend was a joyful one for all Soccer loving Zambians as we witnessed Zambia National Soccer Team beating the Sudanese team 2-0. This has increased the chances of our Chipolopolo boys making their maiden appearance at the World Cup to be staged in Russia in 2018.

With this glory came the unfortunate scenes at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium where, with authority from Government officials present including Minister of Sports and State President HE Edgar Chagwa Lungu, the PF Party took over the Stadium and turned the venue into a Campaign ground for their party.

we are at pains to understand how President Lungu finds it fit to buy free tickets for cadres when our people are losing jobs every day here in Kitwe Mines

PF Party started allowing free entry into the stadium at East Gate and dishing out PF Party regalia thereby compromising the Security and Safety of the Stadium and the Chipolopolo boys as well.

(1) Under FIFA Safety and Security Regulations on Prohibited Items Section 3, FIFA forbids Entrants under (k) not act in a manner that could detract from the sporting event. Under (q) not to engage in any activity that could compromise the safety, security or reputation of the event. In this vein, President Edgar Lungu and his PF Party risked Zambia being sanctioned by FIFA had any unfortunate stampede occurred at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

(2) Under One Zambia One Nation, the current President of Zambia is on record of having directed ZNBC management to reinstate the One Zambia One Nation slogan on our national television before main news broadcasts so to unite the country. HE President Lungu also said Zambia is a unitary State that should not be divided by tribe, colour or politics. We there wonder why HE Lungu decided to politicise our uniting game of Soccer? Is this the One Zambia One Nation that President talks about?

In conclusion we wish to urge all well-meaning Zambians to condemn the behaviour of the PF Party and President Edgar Lungu at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium because Zambians irrespective of their political affiliations all support the Chipolopolo Boys and we shall not allow President to waste Taxpayers to fly from his Holiday to come and divide the Copperbelt Province.

As UPND Party, we are at pains to understand how President Lungu finds it fit to buy free tickets for cadres when our people are losing jobs every day here in Kitwe Mines. We wish our Chipolopolo Boys all the Best in future group games and urge State House to desist from dividing Soccer loving Zambians.

    • Don’t hide behind religion, debate the topic which has been raised. He should have used that money to buy medicines or even mealie meal. Whose monies did he use by the way??

Even the two who have voted for you so far are definitely PF cadres. They can’t read and analyse the article but would rather think with their bellies

    • Pf does not understand democracy let alone multi-party politics. They say the economic problems Zambia is going through are global. Ok, now let’s compare what is happening in the rest of the world. In South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique, Malawi, Angola, DRC, Kenya and even Zimbabwe by the way, you can never see a ruling party flag flying at a shop, market or any public place except at a party office. So is what is happening in Zambia, normal?Taking party flags to a football match, airport and national assembly is the worst form of dictatorship and undermining of politics. Pf is leading Zambia towards social anarchy that will be impossible to contain when it explodes. Lets wise up and play politics not hooliganism.

  3. Cry babies as usual. Was the stadium over filled or what? Unless you learn to appreciate good things done by others you will remain losers. ECL will win again next year. He is still loved and people know he did not drain the water from Kariba and neither does he fix copper prices. Some of you complain of hunger when you spend the whole day on line instead of working. Thereafter you say the economy blah blah. Start working and earn a life folks. People already know who to vote for.

    • @ John Chinena: Contribute according to the article. The article has nothing to do with ECL’s popularity or ECL draining Kariba dam. Unless you are more concerned about the benefits you are getting by being a staunch PF cadre, blind support even when there is no need to do so is dangerous. What will happen if all political parties went to the stadium with their political regalia and dishing out politcal campaign material? Think with your brain not with your belly!

The normal thing is distributing the Zambian flag to all willing supporters. The national team does not belong to PF. Im sure not all the national team players are PF cadres. Think with your brain not with your belly!

    • IN YOUR OWN OPINION MISUSE OF TAX PAYERS MONEY TO BUY TICKETS TO WATCH FOOT BALL IS A GOOD THING TO YOU, WHEN SOMEONE SOMEWHERE IS EATING GAGA AND YOU ARE BUSY PRAISING FAILURE. YOU ARE A PAID UP CADRE TO GIVE PRAISE EVEN WHERE IT IS NOT NEEDED. POWER LIES IN THE HANDS OF PEOPLE BECAUSE YOU TAKE ZAMBIANS FOR GRANTED YOU WILL BE SURPRISED WHEN YOU LOOSE POWER IN AUGUST.

  4. The problem is the FAZ president is allowing all this to gain political mileage. Its a dangerous path because eventually other parties will start coming with their party uniforms and the result will be violence.

  5. Yes indeed it was very disappointing to go to a game after buying a K100 ticket for the west wing only to find cadres sitting on the one’s seat , what was even worse was the way the police were displaced by cadres who were almost causing commotion at the entrances , this MUST NOT REPEAT IT SELF , the best PF could have done was to buy those people tickets so that each could have a seat and watch decently , than the way it was
