Nkwazi, GBFC clash for Barclays Cup

Green Buffaloes and Nkwazi clash for Barcalys Cup honours on Saturday at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.

The final will see a brand new Barclays cup champion crwoned to join Red Arrows, Napsa Stars (both 1 wins), Power Dynamos (2 wins) and record four-time champions Zesco United on the tournament honours list.

Milestones also beckon for Nkwazi coach Elijah Chikwanda and Bilton Musonda at Buffaloes who will be eying debut Cup wins as head coaches.

Nkwazi and Buffaloes will meet for the third time hoping to end deadlock so far in the 2015 season.

The first leg league meeting in Week 14 in June ended 0-0 at home for Buffaloes and 2-2 on October 31 at Edwin Emboela Stadium.

The spotlight in Saturdays final will fall on Buffaloes captain Christopher Katongo who will be playing play in his first local Cup final since returning home in June after 10 years overseas.

Katongo scored a brace in the two sides last meeting a fortnight ago and Musonda will be counting on him to inspire Buffaloes to victory.

Meanwhile, Buffaloes last cup win was in the 2010 Charity Shield while Nkwazi are seeking a historic cup victory in living memory.
