The anti-diarrhoea kit was developed and tested in Zambia by Cola Life, a small UK Non-Governmental Organisation (NGOs) with funding from the Department for |International Development (DfID).
Cola life has partnered with Shoprite Zambia and the anti- diarrhoea kit will be sold in all Shoprite outlets dotted across the country.
Co-founder and Cola life Chief Executive Officer Simon Berry says that kit-yamoyo is a local product made in Zambia.
Mr. Berry says the kit would help unnecessary deaths from dehydration due to diarrhoea.
And Health Minister Joseph kasonde has called for vigorous sensitization of the anti-diarrhoea kit in order to transform diarrhoea treatment rates in the country.
Dr. Kasonde said during the launch that he was happy that the public private partnership has proved to be very effective.
Acting British High Commissioner to Zambia Lucy Joyce unveiled a US$27 million support to Zambia towards scaling up nutrition programmes.
Ms. Joyce said bemoaned that high infant and child mortality rates in Zambia.
The British Envoy further pledged to reduce the high levels of chronic under-nutrition in Zambia through UK Aid Direct which disburses funds to NGOs in the health sector.

Shoprite Zambia General manager Charles Bota said the launch of the anti-diarrhoea kit is timely that the disease would increase in the rain season especially among children.
Mr. Bota is proud that Shoprite has come on bold by offering customers lead healthier lives.
Keeper Zambia Foundation Executive director John Msimuko disclosed that it has trained community health workers and retailers to raise awareness on the anti-diarrhoea kit.

Pound a few mango leaves or guava leaves and then boil in water. Let is cool a bit and then drink even a cup stop diarrhoea. Imodium is a waste of money. Use your head.

ThIS IS MARUBISH. sTATE THE constituents of that kit? proportions , usage of each element, dosage, past success, pros and cons, which people or age group structure can use it . Vikolakola will not help us , lets be realistic , me i wont use ur stupid KIT

I am wondering whether this is anti-diarrhoea or just a rehydration solution. If it is an anti-diarrhoea as claimed, what is the active ingredient and does how does it work on motility.
Editor’ there is no new drug for diarrhoea. The product is normal oral rehydration salts. We have a pool of pharmacists you can be consulting on. The story is misleading. In drug development terms for example, It inappropriate to call a drug new simply because it has been launched by a new manufacturer. For example viagra’ (sildenafil) a property of pfizer pharma cannot be called new if an indian generic maker launches it under a different name in zambia.
I nearly said this is a first for Zambia.then I read further and found that the headline is misleading as pointed out by others above. I have always used a mixture of salt and sugar and it has fixed the diarrhoea problem. But we can minimise diarrhoea by encouraging people to live under clean surrounding and cook food hygienic places. Imagine you buy food from the streets which are used for both toilet and market, what do you expect when you eat the food? Let GRZ support the Sondashi formula fully and then we can call it Zambian. By this time we should have been producing our own car and not importing the second hand cars like Toyota Noah which has been involved in too many accidents.

“A new drug”?
Kit yamoyo contains ORS, zinc and a small bar of soap. The container is made to a size that holds sufficient water for mixing the ORS.
Please clarify what you mean by “NEW DRUG”.
