The Newly formed Orange Alliance Chairman Elias Chipimo Jnr has called on Zambians work together and build a Zambia that we all know we deserve.

In a statement released to the media, Mr Chipimo said that the youths of Zambia will only ever be taken seriously when they choose to put our differences aside and work together to achieve a unity whose foundation was built by Zambia’s brave men and women in the past in the past

Below is the full statement

AN ALLIANCE TO SECURE OUR FUTURE – Elias Chipimo Jnr

My fellow Zambians, we come before you as three gallant young sons of the soil, each with our committed team of supporters. We come to you with a message of hope and a promise that if we work together, we can build the Zambia we all know we deserve.

The youth of this country will only ever be taken seriously when we choose to put our differences aside and work together to achieve a unity whose foundation was built by Zambia’s brave men and women in the past and whose future must be secured by brave young minds willing to commit themselves to a noble cause that is bigger than any one of them.

For years, the young people of Zambia have clamoured for a style of politics that will desist from the mud-slinging and mindless violence that has characterised it.

Pangas and teargas may be designed to instill fear in political opponents but they also deny the country the right to hear different, better views and plans about our future and how we can get there together, without insults, without injury, without loss of life.

There is no better time than now to do the right thing. The right thing to do is to discard the politics of the past; to say no to violence and to build genuine unity.

As Alliance partners, we are determined to do what is in the best interest of our Parties and our country.

We know what we want and we know what the nation needs. We know what is wrong, and rather than simply identify the problems, we have the solutions and are prepared to state them and pursue them with all our hearts.

The time for excuses is long gone. Now is the time for action. Let us not let one day go by without re-committing ourselves to the cause of mother Zambia.

    • He is definitely addressing Bemba youths. Bembas have a way of coding their language so that the undiscerning outsider thinks they are being nationalistic but in fact they are just pushing a Bemba agenda. Non-Bembas should not be fooled by this. If you come from a “wrong” tribe, please just vote for one of your own.

    • Orange is the colour

Orange. Orange combines the energy of red and the happiness of yellow. It is associated with joy, sunshine, and the tropics. Orange represents enthusiasm, fascination, happiness, creativity, determination, attraction, success, encouragement, and stimulation.

Vote Miles Sa,pa DF & Orange colour

    • Sorry but what differences exists among youths in zambia? I see no differences we are in unit as youths, the only people who are creating differences is the old people we have. Those born in 1965 and below are the real wrong ones and today they are the ruling class . A useless bunch who have sown corruption in the our society.

  1. He is appealing to all youths of all tribes. Give them time and you will see different tribes in the hierarchy. The three of them were the known party leaders. Now they must identify other like minded youth leaders to incorporate in the OA.

Like he says: There is no better time than now to do the right thing. The right thing to do is to discard the politics of the past; to say no to violence and to build genuine unity.

  2. @ north western rhodesian
Why always give out to the Bemba people imwe ba UPND cadres!?? Did you know that, they are the largest ethnicity in Zambia, and without their support your party can not win a general election… Grow up and learn to work with outhouse tribes

  3. Mr Chipimo you ought to have allied with PF, as it is, you’re out in the wilderness and your talent is wasting. This message at the core is bland. Are you a party for Youth only? The first output from your party should be about your analysis of what has gone wrong in Zambia and how you intend to put it right. Hard nitty gritty stuff like applying policies to problems currently occurring and convincing us that would work. This is tired.

  4. ….these guys are easily likened to the Three Musketeers on an adventure….exactly the opposite of the Three wise men from the east…..these guys should incorporate Diffikot and Bikkilon including Dorika for there new group to be called Sit Down Zambia zero comedy to supersede Stand up
Zambia one comedy….what makes it different and better to the other previous group is the presence of a refined Poet Chipimo Jnr….his poets like the one above can never let any anyone in the audience to doze off….I suggest they start their country tour either from Choma or Mongu just to gauge their popularity…..if they can attract audience to fill up any classroom at any primary school…that will be a good start……

    • ….may be Chipimo’s NAREP has a manifesto… I very much doubt if the DF and Eric’s party has….then how have they managed to intertwine without comparing notes….what each one stands for…the ideologies etc…???…rubbish

  5. The majority of our country is youth. The future will lie in their hands. Mentorship, internship, sensitisation and overall support programmes need to be directed towards harnessing ALL their potential. I like Elias and his good intentions. I might even wear my orange cap with forward facing shorts and sinking boat tee shirt. He won’t panga me for it…

    • Stop it @ A Phiri!! These guys are jokers……true dat about Youth numbers, but we adults need to protect them by electing stable guys! Save your duds for a better occasion! Save your pity for worthy ones….

  6. You can’t have a party for the youth only. Youth is a transitional phase in human being’s life course. Beyond age 25, according to UNICEF’s definition of youth, you cease to be a youth – or in Zambia’s case 35 years. Do you resign from the Orange Coalition when when you go over the threshold age for youth? To the best of my knowledge Elias Chipimo is 50 or years old and Miles Sampa is 46 years old. Are these genuine representatives of Zambian youth, or they are just middle – aged men suffering from mid-life crisis and masquerading as youth?

  7. KK & his team were ‘youth’ in 1964. 50 years down the road we still have the same fellows as our leaders. We can’t make the same mistake. Each generation should take it upon itself to revolutionalise & guard the way it wants to live & be governed. Our madalas are happy when the next generation is uninformed & less educated. So its incumbent upon each generation to be wary of manipulation, be alert & advocate for what’s good for them.

    • tizi turu ,

What you are saying is not entirely correct. In 1964, ECL was only 8 years old, having been born in 1956. HH was only 2 years old in 1964. So when you say “we still have same leaders as our leaders’, who are you referring to? Leaders like ECL and HH, and many of the people in their 50s and some in their early 60s, are really not part of the generation you are referring to. Start by getting your facts right before coming up with some ill-informed argument and making a fool of yourself. Instead of putting down people older than you. just work hard, excel, and surpass them them on merit.

  9. Iti zulu,

What you are saying is not entirely correct. In 1964, ECL was only 8 years old, having been born in 1956. HH was only 2 years old in 1964. 10. Bemba tribalism knows no bounds! If these were 3 Lozis or 3 tongas they would have been called triablistic by the most triablistic grouping in zambia. Smh just as well ECL is slowly but surely getting rid of them from PF

  11. Bembas/easterners/lambas/lenjes by nature are not tribalists and they dont teach their children bad manners of hatred/insults as it is with the offended tribes. Bembas/easterners/lambas/lenjes are very peaceful and very sharp and cannot be deceived easily. Gen0me of genociide in the inferior tribes is what these sharp tribes are scared of. They do not want to sell the peace of the country cheaply. That is why uPND WILL NOT RULE!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. Maikalange the demographics of this country tell us the majority of our population are below 35. If you care to check who is driving the politics, economy or any area of human development you will notice this age group is not participating fully. If you are just going to look at chagwa & HH & think the youth have arrived then you miss the point Elias is making. The point I’m making is instead of each generation waiting to be future leaders they should be seizing the opportunities that arise at various stages to play a serious role in our development. I’m not telling old people to fold up, I’m telling young people to rise & be like the KK generation. But then maybe you are satisfied with drinking kantobo & throwing stones. Your life buttah!

    • It zulu,
Excellent! I entirely agree with your statement that “each generation waiting to be future leaders they should be seizing the opportunities that arise at various stages to play a serious role in our development. I’m not telling old people to fold up, I’m telling young people to rise & be like the KK generation.” That’s exactly the point I was also trying to communicate. What you are saying is in total contrast with the nonsense from another blogger called HOUSEFLY who says and I quote: “Those born in 1965 and below are the real wrong ones and today they are the ruling class. A useless bunch who have sown corruption in the society.”

  13. There are many of us who were born before 1965, but were just toddlers in 1964. Some of us are very highly educated with scientific and engineering qualifications and have made very significant contributions to the development of this country. Should we be consigned to the dustbin of history just because we are older than HOUSEFLY?

  14. In developed countries, our friends never make any noises about the ages of their politicians. They are more concerned with the politicians’ ideologies and capabilities. In the current US Presidential primaries taking place now, you won’t hear American youth complaining about none of the candidates being a youth. The average age of the Republican candidates vying for Presidential nomination is 57.8 years. This is broken down as follows (with age in brackets): Trump (69), Cruz (45), Rubio (44), Bush (62), Carson (64), Christie (53), Kasich (63), Santorum (57), Huckabee (60), Fiorina ( 61). For the Democratic aspirants the average age is 71 years, with the following breakdown: Sanders (74) and Clinton (68). If this Zambia, all these youth NGOs would be yapping about this day and night!
