Green party President Peter Sinkamba has described the Zambian economy as being in a state of economic decay.

And Mr Sinkamba says blaming the opposition over the challenges that has led to the subsequent indefinite closure of the country’s biggest universities is ridiculous.

Speaking when he featured on the Hot seat radio program, the out spoken opposition leader said all of the country’s economic fundamentals had been destroyed be the PF government.

He said the country’s economy has been worsening every year and that the nation had become a shadow of itself after the PF took over from the MMD who left the country on a growing economic path.

” Zambia is now in the state of economic decay, an economy which has worsened year in year out, for example our mining sector which was our many stay in terms of export earnings generating 80% of all our export earnings, it was the second employer to government we are producing almost the same quantities of copper but the fortunes have diminished sizably on account of some negative reasons including inconsistencies in policies so today Zambia has become a shadow of itself, ” Mr Sinkamba said.

And Mr Sinkamba says government has only itself to blame for the problems at UNZA and CBU.

He said it is not the opposition who have failed to pay the students but that it is government who are failing to follow the budget and embarking on projects which are unbudgeted for.

He said it is unfair and ridiculous for government to push the blame on the opposition when it is government officials who are going around dishing out loans to marketeers instead of paying students their dues.

Meanwhile Mr Sinkamba says his party will not go into a marriage of convenience by going into alliance with other political parties the sake of kicking PF out of office.

He said doing so would compromise their ideals as a party and their agenda of liberalising the country socially and economically.

He said the country is were it is today because of bandwagon politics.

“Why we have high levels of economic decay, social decay, environmental reach and Political decay is because of bandwagon politics were people just join hands for the sake of being in government. We want to form government to implement our agenda not just the sake of forming government. The problem with forming government in an alliance is that you just become complimentary because the party you go in alliance has an agenda and they want to implement that agenda so at the end of the day you end up compromising your principles,” he said.

He added that country needs a leadership which principled and ready to implement their agenda without any comprise.

    • Even iddiots sound more sensible than these clowns in Government that tell us rubbish like it is “economically beneficial” for Zambia when Lungu goes to visit the Pope!

There is more intelligence coming from this man than the whole of PF put together! Why can’t these dumbasses listen and heed good advice? Just getting elected does not make people super smart

  2. Getting elected actually makes people more selfish and dull. Then arrogance takes over and and they start suffering from delusions and long finger syndrome!

  3. They were selfish & dull even before they were elected. Something wrong with the electorate. How do you elect a known thief & drunk as your leader.
