President Edgar Lungu has appealed to Zambians to remain united and patriotic as the country goes to the polls on August 11, 2016.

President Lungu says elections must not divide the country.

The Republican President is hopeful that as the country goes to the Polls unity of purpose will be manifested more.

President Lungu was speaking when he addressed Zambians living in Paris, France at a luncheon hosted in his honor.

The President says elections are just a passing phase, while Zambia will remain a united and sovereign state.

Mr. Lungu says he is proud that Zambians in France have continued to raise the Country’s flag high up.

He further appealed to Zambians abroad to read and understand extensively the contents of the newly amended constitution.

Meanwhile, President Lungu says the Electoral Commission of Zambia ( ECZ ) is eager to give Zambians living abroad a chance to cast their votes.

He however says fears by some stakeholders can have NOT embraced technology.

And First Lady Esther Lungu praised the Zambians in France for being patriotic and responsible.

She urged Zambians to remain united and love One another.

Earlier, Foreign Affairs Minister Harry Kalaba says Zambia is shifting its focus to economic diplomacy.

Mr Kalaba also informed Zambians that the diaspora policy is now ready and waiting to be approved by cabinet.

And Zambian Community Representative, Professor Fackson Banda praised President LUNGU for magnanimous and assenting to the newly amended constitution that brought into effect the 50 plus One threshold.

  1. Sir, what is your economic recovery plan for which I should vote you for? You always talk about elections, fine, but what is your plan b4 and after elections? Just asking, not ukufulwa…!!!

    • Why is Lungu appealing for calm when his regime is denying the opposition a chance to mobilise their supporters. He thinks the opposition supporters will sit on the fence while PF police brutalise their supporters while letting PF cadres commit atrocities with impunity?

Calm it will be if you control your cadres and let the police do their jobs professionally.

If misapplication of POA continues Mr President, we warn you, that 2016 elections will be far from being peaceful.

Never underestimate people power. Zambia is not Burundi or Zimbabwe.

    • Calm is the middle name for Miles sampa.

What Miles brings in the ring is a game never been seen before a seek ad destroy, a netball game with ruthless intention.

Miles will be ruthless when it comes to August 11,

he will win the elections in doing so- making it so easy that I will say to all of you I TOLD YOU SO!

      In Miles Sampa we trust

Please vote the orange Alliance in 2016 for a betterness and improvement in EVERYTHING

      Thanks

      B2014

    • imwe bantu,,,, give my ex-chakolwa friend a benefit of doubt,,,, maybe this time he is saying the truth because he is now `born again`…he is from Vatican to see the Pope himself for cleansing of his drinking demons,,,,,
Yes! I know my friend @Nostradamus feels sorry for a sober Lungu because he looks miserable,,,,,,,,,,,
please people! benefit of doubt ,, let see if prayers from Vatican can help because national prayers didn’t work…. this is a last resort,,, after this I don’t know because all witch doctors failed including those from mununga in luapula

    • This is typical of the lazy BUM Edgar talking about elections instead of the economy ..the bum is completely out of his depth like old man Sata..they are only good at campaigning and dancing!

    • “Earlier, Foreign Affairs Minister Harry Kalaba says Zambia is shifting its focus to economic diplomacy.” THAT’S THE WAY TO GO Mr MINISTER. POLITICS IN EMBASSIES AND HIGH COMMISSIONS SHOULD BE A THING OF THE PAST. EMBASSIES AND HIGH COMMISSIONS MUST BE FOR MOBILISING INVESTMENT AND PROMOTING FARMING AND TOURISM. I COULDN’T AGREE MORE WITH YOU. IN SHORT EMBASSIES AND HIGH COMMISSIONS SHOULD NOW BE FOR BUSINESS PRESENTATIONS ESPECIALLY BY ZAMBIANS IN DIASPORA AND POTENTIAL FOREIGN INVESTORS.

    • what is this guy doing in France visiting zambian diaspora… shame i hear no offical visit here. Maybe chanipita chizungu. Can someone help me understand the objective and mission of this journey. Anyway its Orange Alliance we are waiting for this colonial mentality must go. Our Dot Com presido real Zambian pure Zambian and Miles for Zambian Development needs Sampa for Zambia Chipimo for Zambian for Zambians Chanda the revolutionalized Zambia twakana tupeni Zambia yesu ba Rhodesia bawelenski.

    • Are elections on February 11th of it is 6 months from now? Even pregnant women are not thinking about giving birth in August, way too early.
All the way to Europe to discuss on elections which a way toooooo faaaaar! Why all these nightmares?

    • Why is Lungu skirting the violence issue by not coming out forcefully in condemning all sorts of violence and instructing his PF police to deal with perpetrators without fear or favor of who is involved! Lungu speaks with a forked tongue when it comes to ending violence which people leaving his party attribute mostly to PF cadres labeling them as the most violent! Anyway they should be for they are the only ones that have been identified with use of panga’s and guns led by Davies Chama and Kaizer Zulu!

    • LUNGU SEEMS TO HAVE SOME HIGH DEGREE OF INSANITY. HOW DOES LUNGU APPEAL FOR UNITY AHEAD OF THIS YEAR’S TRIPARTITE ELECTIONS WHEN HE HAS ALREADY BROUGHT DIVISIONS AND ANARCHY IN THE COUNTRY BY BY BRUTALIZING OWN CHILDREN WHO ARE CITIZENS OF OUR COUNTRY ZAMBIA TOO. LUNGU HAS ALREADY SPOILED THIS YEAR. IF LUNGU WAS A WISE PRESIDENT, HE WOULD HAVE ENSURED THAT THERE IS TOTAL PEACE IN THE COUNTRY, WITH NO SECTOR OF SOCIETY BEING VICTIMS OF POLICE BRUTALITY. UNZA AND CBU ARE THE HEART OF ZAMBIA. YOU TOUCH ON THOSE CITIZENS, THEN YOU TOUCH ON EVERYONE IN THE COUNTRY, BECAUSE THOSE STUDENTS ARE COMING FROM ALL PARTS OF THE COUNTRY, AND REPRESENT THE ENTIRE SOCIAL STRATA. GO HAS TAKEN WISDOM AWAY FROM LUNGU. LUNGU IS INDEED LOSING THE AUGUST 11 ELECTIONS. ABASH LUNGU. ABASH POLICE BRUTALITY ON…

    • Lungu, it is for ordinary people to appeal for calm.

YOU, as President, have the task of keeping Zambia safe and secure. In case you do not know it, THIS IS THE JOB THE PEOPLE OF ZAMBIA ARE PAYING YOU TO DO!

Time for talk is OVER! Now is the time for action. Put a proper plan in place. Make sure peoples rights are respected. Jail people breaking the law.

“Appealing for calm” is just covering your arse.

LEADERSHIP IS REQUIRED. ARE YOU UP TO THE TASK? WE THE PEOPLE WILL SEE AND GIVE YOU OUR VERDICT IN AUGUST.

  2. I wish progressive pipo like Hon Mwitwa could join new PF and leave UPNDMMDPF. Look at changes in choma and ask yourself if it is right to be part of the group that will be saying PF has failed. Zambians will appreciate you if you do that now than that time when PF has won elections.

    • Timoth you are right. Thats why choma’s voting in this year’s elections will confirm whether our brothers and sisters in southern province are either tribal or national. Theres no political party that would solve all the challenges of the nation in 5 yrs. Choma is one of the few places that has heavily benefited from the PF government. Its a provincial headquarters and massive infrastructure are happening, first time in 50years of our independence. Honestly aisha what more do we need a government to do for us? Dropping bags of meali meal every month on our door steps?

    • You liars! You have failed to deliver to Zambians in 5 years what you promised in 90 days. You don’t deserve more time.

    • I got this from a perceptive blogger./++++++++////

Using serpentine deceit PF rode on the back of deceit to woo votes and winning elections on the 90 day sham.

When voices of reason and dissent arose, PF strategy was to go for the jugular of HH labelling him tribal, bitter, hater etc.

There is a time for reckoning even for.master con artists. Their lies run out of mileage.

UPND is the most.represented party with majority support from the seven major languages of Bemba, Nyanja, Lozi, Tonga, Kaonde, Lunda and Luvale.

To date UPND has had majority support bar for Bemba=PF and Nyanja inclined to RB.

But Bemba PF has been on the pedestal labelling the majority tribe supported UPND as regional and tribal.

Beware of the serpentine deceit SOME OF (not all of them) the Bemba…

    • What are the changes that you.see in Choma?

ZNBC broadcasts in the seven major languages of Bemba, Nyanja, Lozi, Tonga, Kaonde, Lunda and Luvale.

All but Bemba and Nyanja overwhelming voted UPND. PF is the triba1 party reliant on Bemba speaking voters in the North.

  3. I also wish to ask this man Mr Lungu, what is the plan for Zambia’s economic recovery plan? Since you and your government cannot decipher how and why the economy is bad and you obsess yourself with elections, sir please leave this respected office of CEO of this country. You are a wreck and waste of time for me and this country at large and you will fsce God’s wrath if you use underhand methods to stick to the job. May God give you wisdom bamudala!

    • Economies in the developed countries are majorly driven by SMEs which grow into large enterprises like Dangote. Sir with due respect what are you and me doing to contribute to the economic wel being of this nation. Don’t tell me things are tough. I know of a man DANA services he started his business from selling cooking oil today he is one of the employer of labour in this nation. Thats why he may not post things like the one you have posted. Is it reasonable to condemn a man who has been in office for 1 year for the lack of fore sight of leaders who were there for the past 50 years. If God allowed HH to be president this year, will it be fair to blame him for electricity deficit or copper prices or lack of irrigation farming. I don’t think so.

    • @Dominion

Why are you making excuses for Lungu? He is very good at making excuses for himself!

The simple fact is he has been a Minister in this PF Government which has been in power for more than four years. Are you saying that he only started working after being elected president? What was he doing? Just drinking and dancing? Well that is what he is doing NOW!

Oh, and always talking about elections!

Maybe he could have shown us he is serious about doing the job of President by now, but that is not what we have seen.

HE HAS FAILED TO DO THE JOB. He has not even understood HOW TO DO THE JOB!

Sorry but this drunkard has missed his chance!

    • @ dominion

What has Lungu or Sata (RIP) or PF done for SME?
      NOTHING!!!
      ZERO!!!
Do you know that ZRA/PF are taxing free canteen meals at 35%?
Please refrain from making comments about economy as you are showing PF induced ignorance and incompetence.

    • Lungu has purposefully killed SMEs by increasing electricity tariffs by 300% for commercial and industrial customers. PF has nothing to show for employment and wealth creation.

  4. Jinx my dear, you are a Zambian. Being in opposition does not mean losing a sense of Zambians. Be like Americans who stand by their country despite political differences. Listen to Anthony Mukwita on sunday interview

  5. Political playing field is unbalanced as it is only favouring the ruling PF. ZNBC and other govt media houses only cover PF leaders and yet it operates on tax payers money. Zambians will vote UPND on 11th Aug. What is Lungu doing in Europe when the country is facing a lot of economic problems created by PF. We hope this time he didn’t carry with him 156 passengers including musicians and dancers as was the case when he went to USA last September where over US$300,000 was wasted.
    HH 2016

    • Are you the only full who doesn’t know that hh sued all public medium not to cover him. That’s why he has gone for international media like CNN algazilla BBC etc.

  6. @Timo and @Dominion, Monze is also classic in terms of development. To honest, I am seeing a tall mountain for the opposition this year coz the new campaign message for PF I hear is founded on job creation and economic recovery.

If what I overheard is reality, it may go for second round to get rid of PF. I don’t support them though, but I haven’t been convinced by the opposition either. All I hear from HH all the time is the word “fixing the economy”…… How?

  7. @Lucy I have even spent 10 minutes with him face to face. I even have photos with him. He’s not at the level of Mazoka. Its not my job TP point at wrongs but to give support to whoever will win. However, we must understand governance than listening to people. Its me as a professional who either brings down or promote a party in power.

Lucy don’t forget that. You can only improve this country if you work on the civil service. So far none of these guys has ever prioritised that. Listen to all campaign messages and see if you will hear any talking about how they will make a civil servant to implement their policies.

    • Article is about someone else but cadres can only see HH do you guys sleep over HH? Yoi are campaigning for him very well.

    • But did you want HH to tell these clueless his ideas of developing the nation so that they steal his ideas, No my dear. If Kaminamisa was ready to be President of this country he was going to show us his plans, but so far it is chimbwi no plan. He has just managed to show us his skills in dancing and drinking alcohol.

  8. We are sending that stinking and scruffy Ichilema together with Kamwenfu the dirty reprobate to the dustbin of history come this August so that they will remain with that diseased tummy of that kapompa saladI with a small brain.

  9. I hope violent (HH) gets this message loud and clear. He needs to tame his uncivilized, violent, cattle raping cadres. UPND is to violent and backward. Primitive and violent thugs UPND

    • @mr kudos, it’s five uncivilized, thugs, monkey raping PFool cadres who been sentenced to death by hanging until pronounced dead by the lusaka high court for the murder of a UPND member.

    • Kudos, from your picture we can see your brain is so empty that logical debate and an understanding of issues is beyond your capabilities.

Just go and join your dead fossil friends in PF on the scrapheap of history.

    • Hahaha, ba Homo chakuti, reminds you of your cattle banging days ayi? That explains your hysterical laughter and your kama small erection 🙂 As for kudos, he talks about raping all the time because he is subjected to that all the time from fellow PF cadres.

    • Dude Love
Pwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah ati ka small erection, lol. Is that what your BF subjects you to? Just continue raping your cows

  10. University closures has not attracted comments from upnd and orange because they are 100% guilty for the misbehaving at the institutes. Shame on these selfish demons.

    • @Hh Techilema: From a neutral point of view, Govt has let down the two Universities by not providing enough funding. This is all plain and clear unless you want to turn a blind eye to the real problem due to blind support of PF. These students are intelligent enough not to be easily influenced by any politician. Take time to find out the truth from any student instead of hiding the real problem by accusing other political parties.

    • Kazunga
My friend not all University students are intelligent especially at Unza. There are courses that even a G7 can pass and most of them come out even without knowing how to write a report and even how to use a PC. We mingle with most of those good for nothing characters.

    • @Kazunga

University Students should stop rioting by order of HH and other misleading opposition. In fact they should all be sent to National ?Service Camps until after a Elections. Yes, I do imply removing their right to vote.

The fact is they are putting off Investors and damaging the very things we have built in the last years to bring Zambia forward. If students have learned anything during this closure, it should be that they need to retreat into a safe learning environment instead of being victims of opposition parties.

  11. Oi mushota, whose miles Sampa to you? Current situation, miles does not have a political party so the alliance does not stand. You must be related to him, you and him think the same, deep down in your heart if you fetch nicely that little voice is telling you and miles that he will never be president of zambian, at least not in this generation or the next one either.

  12. Comment: PF has opened up roads to various areas of the country with potential for agriculture, mining and tourism. But instead of taking advantage and investing in these areas, some Zambias are busy saying we dont eat roads. When foreginers acquire the land and do some investments, the same Zambians will be saying PF is giving land to foreigers. What kind of people are we?

    • It’s left over behaviour from colonial period. See, colonialists used to do all the thinking stuff and then whip us Africans into following the set rules. No personal thinking required.

This is why Zambians are divorced from personal responsibility for developing the country. The gov’t this, the gov’t that….

In the a West people respond to the effects of policies, in Zambia they blame the gov’t FOR THE ACTUAL MARKET CONDITIONS. No rains, ….etc

  13. We should re-introduce National Service in the form of a short (3month) community service as punishment for those that riot or cause trouble during the period leading to, and during the elections. They can be made to cleanup streets, picking papers etc. help little old ladies sit their katundu’s.

Just pick them up and bundle into Black Maria or what ever national service trucks are called these days. National service can drive to source of trouble after police notice and break up the little men fighting among themselves.

We need something in the vein of state of emergency. People need to be civilised. Unfortunately the thought of gaining access to all the gold in Zambia sends men out salivating like dogs with wide eyes and bushy tails a’wagging! Save Zambia!!

  14. ala nangu mulande shani ifye ninafuti nafuti Edgar uwa mutende, cili kuli iwe weufwaya spoon feeding 11 AUG U LL DIE WITH YO BP cos we a many who dont want change and who a unhappy with the way upnd a doing things
