KATUBA member of Parliament (MP) Jonas Shakafuswa says his relationship with United Party for National Development (UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema is at its lowest.
Mr Shakafuswa said in an interview yesterday that Mr Hichilema has his reasons why he has taken such a stance on him.
“People have been asking me what is happening with my relationship with UPND. Well, I will say my relationship with party president HH is at its lowest. He has his reasons which I respect,” he said in a posting on his Facebook page.
Mr Shakafuswa said he also hopes that Mr Hichilema respects his reasons as well.
But when asked to state the reasons why his relations with Mr Hichilema have deteriorated, Mr Shakafuswa declined to mention them, insisting that what is important for now is for people to know that his relationship with Mr Hichilema is low.
Efforts to get Mr Hichilema failed, but UPND spokesperson Charles Kakoma said in an interview that the relationship between Mr Hichilema and other party members is cordial.
Mr Kakoma said Mr Hichilema has never gone to Katuba to campaign against Mr Shakafuswa.
He said it is Mr Shakafuswa’s own alleged outbursts that have caused the relationship between him and other members to deteriorate.

Lungu has admitted that he offered Shakafuswa a ministerial post but he refused it. Now it looks like he wants to antagonize UPND. Does he have a better view of PF now than last year? He should just cross over to PF quietly and not be like Bashi Nono. There are no next times for pukucwes.

Hon. Shaka you know very well you can stop this and work this out. If you think telling us that will help your perceived unwell relationship to normalize, you may be doing it the unfamiliar way. I feel there is something you can do right. People don’t have to go to your constituency to campaign all the time and you continue coming to tell us this and that all the time. It’s about time for most of you serious politicians to put your leadership in power. Why should someone be proud to be in opposition forever? Upnd will never form govt. If you continue clining to it will will retire without flying a flag of Zambia on your car while seated at the rear left seat. HH never cares to be in opposition forever that’s why he can’t step down as party leader.

I feel personal relationship with God is the best relationship before you consider your relationship with fellow man.Man will always disappoint you but God will never do so.As human being,we have weaknesses which beyond our livelihood.I would prefer one has a good relationship with Christ than breaking yourself on mundane relationship which is bound to break at any time.God’s relationship with man is unconditional.It will never change.It is the same.Much as you may need to have a cordial relationship with HH but God’s love surpasses that reltionship.
