MMD President Nevers Mumba says part of the reason why Lunte Member of Parliament Felix Mutati was expelled from party borders on criminality.
Dr. Mumba says the National Executive Committee has enough evidence to prove that Mr. Mutati was behind recent clashes at the party secretariat which resulted in the damage to private property.
Asked whether the MMD will drag Mr. Mutati to court on the issues bordering on criminality given the available evidence, Dr. Mumba says the party is waiting for the Police to conclude its investigations on the matter.
And Dr. Mumba has described as disrespectful Mr. Mutati’s suggestion that the decision to expel him from the party is inconsequential.
He Mr. Mutati is exaggerating his importance to party if he thinks that he is more powerful than the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) which expelled him.

Dr. Mumba, you seem to be drunk an infatuated with Party Presidency leadership. If you are intolerant as a party leader what would become of you if you became a state president. You are the source of MMD’s current confusion due to abrogation of the party constitution through manipulation of your NEC. You keep referring to a NEC for which all the top leaders abstain from your meetings. Why do you seem obsessed with personal political survival at all costs. Politics is a service not a livelihood for a lifetime. Why behave like a monkey jumping from one fruit tree to another in order to fill-up its belly. Go back to the pulpit and you will a better person.
Mutati deserves what he gets. He lacks courage and resolve, by now he should have been MMD president.
