Patriotic Front(PF) Bahati constituency chairlady Alice Chipulu has threatened to eliminate the life of Tuta radio staffer if she continues interviewing the village headmen on developmental projects going on in bahati constituency.
The chairlady confronted the reporter Hellen Chisha in Zambia compound after the interview she had with village headman Chidakwa in chief Chimese area.
In the interview, the village headman bemoaned the poor road network and lack of proper leadership in the district.
The chairlady, popularly known as Bana Kaluba, said that Tuta radio station has became so controversial in news coverage and the interviews.
She said Tuta radio has got no right to interview the Headman instead of interviewing the area Member of Parliament Hon Harry Kalaba.
She said that as PF members in Bahati constituency, the party has put up some strong measure to deal with all Tuta radio news reporters before the end of this year.
Meanwhile Tuta radio station manager Jubilee Malambo has strongly expressed disappointment over the continued harassment of Tuta radio employees.
Mr Malambo has warned the PF cadres to stay away from the attacking the station stating it is a bad conduct from the ruling party.
He disclosed that this is the third time PF cadres are harassing the radio station in different occasions in Mansa.
Mr Malambo has stated that as a station we will not sit idle on this issue and we promise to fight it tooth and nail, adding that if anything happens to the members of staff when executing their duties, the chairlady will be answerable and face the consequences.
The matter has since been reported to Mansa Central Police Station.

Am not surprised with the conduct of tuta radio. Just by reading the name of the station manager what would you expect.

Bana Kaluba’s might not be so much of an over reaction when viewed against a background of the high levels of amature journalism doing the rounds due to proliferation of community radio stations. in some countries these have been sources of conflict it’s very important that beginner scribes are adequately drilled in basic journalism practices of handling divergent views to avoid trouble
