Movie Review : DeadPool

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life

PROS

• Excellent performance by Ryan Reynolds . His potrayal of Wade Wilson/Deadpool was fantastic .
• Tremendous action sequences . Employing playful visuals and using pretty much every camera technique available; it never feels repetitive and the pacing is close to perfection.
• It had a fresh story-line ,as it is not usual ,’world is about to end unless we do something’ ,that we get from most Super Hero movies .

CONS

• The crude humor was a bit excessive at times.

CONCLUSION 

DeadPool has to be one of the best Super Hero movies I have watched in a very long time . Recent Super Hero movies have been increasingly catering to a younger audience , so the final product comes out kid friendly and watered down .This tends to alienate older fans of the genre . Well , DeadPool is here to save the day . This movie caters for a more mature audience . It has actual violence ( people getting their limbs and heads chopped off) , some off-colour humor , and the “Hero” is no goody-two-shoes .

Ryan Reynolds was the perfect actor to play the role of Wade Wilson/DeadPool . His quick witted humor perfectly matched the character ,and it was portrayed naturally . The “fourth wall” being broken here and there was refreshing and added to the movie . ( Speaking directly to, otherwise acknowledging or doing something to the audience through the TV screen is known as “Breaking the fourth wall”) 

The story-line was simple and straight forward , abit predictable ,but not in a bad way . What makes this movie great is its realism , it is not over-the-top like some Super Hero movies tend to be .

DeadPool is a must watch movie for everyone…..just leave the Kids at home .
