The opposition FDD says it is shocking that the PF Government spent over K4.8 million on hosting the constitution signing ceremony at Heroes stadium.

FDD Spokesman Antonio Mwanza said the party is shocked and dismayed that all that money could be spent just to append a signature on a document.

Mr Mwanza said it is hard to believe that Government can spend all that money for a single event.

He said the act borders on criminality, banditry adding that it is preposterous for the PF to waste tax payers money in such manner.

“Over K4.8. Million on fun when they can’t pay CBU and UNZA students; when patients are sleeping on the floor in hospitals and clinics which have no medicines; when babies are dying of malnutrition and curable diseases; when retirees are dying unpaid for their sweat,” Mr Mwanza said.

He said Zambia has criminals, bandits and murderers masquerading as leaders who lack morality.

Mr Mwanza said the PF has no empathy for the poor describing the expenditure as thuggery.

    • That is Fintu….. they voted for. Let us watch where this all ends with the k160 billion debt ceiling they have given themselves. Zambia will bleed to death, meanwhile some id#%ts keep on saying fintu……..

    • Chiluba’s and KK’s signatures were much more powerful than this dull little twat called Lungu and they signed from State House.

    • He humbly gobbled K5 million to just append a signature, and for the 18th of October day of prayer the expenses will remain secret meanwhile the local debt ceiling has to be raised to continue their extravagant lack of prioritization reckless spending.

  1. How was this money spent and where is FDD getting these figures? People should be factual whenever they talk about such matters. FFD should quote the sources of information.

    • Vice President Inonge Wina has revealed that Government spent about K4.89 million to organise the constitution signing ceremony at Lusaka Heroes Stadium last month.

Ms. Wina said the funds went to cater for security, entertainment and transport and meal for delegates.

    • You are just shallow so you think that is the only money Zambia had, governance and democracy is like that. Its only that Mr. Mwanza doesnt know how a government document look like not even a contract

  2. A bunch of zambians were busy clapping at heroes on that day when there colleague was stealing.ha ha ha,lets wake up guys.

  3. 1.Flypast by ZAF 2. Protocol expenses 3. Stage mounting and décor 4. Special chairs for invited guests
    5. Invitation cards 6. Security 7. Allowances for defense personnel -Zambia Army Brass band 8. Transport for defense and security choir. 9. Transport for defense wings 10. Accommodation, food and transport for delegates from all the 10 provinces. 11. Champagne, beers, food and soft drinks 12. stadium cleaning, toilet paper and toilet cleaner. 13. Performance by various entertainment groups. 14 Allowances for the defense and security chaplaincy 16. Allowances for traditional chiefs 17. Transportation of fire arms, swords and special bullets. 18. Printing of the amended constitution, seals and special pen for the president. 19. Transport and security for former presidents. Please note…

  4. By implication you also mean the enactment of the constitution was immoral, since you and all opposition fought against it.

Look forget about this petty politicking, we all know you are just scoring points. I mean what type of understanding would Zambians exhibit if the most important document protecting their rights was allowed to go into history without any note?

    • It is amazing how seemingly educated people are willing to sacrifice objectivity in order to justify supporting blatant stup!dity. KK and Chiluba signed ku Statehouse and those two are far more presidential than this clueless little creep. Grow a brain Patriot. This kind of expense cannot be justified and to worsen matters, it was never in the 2016 budget. What your dunderhead brain should ask yourself is what ministry will suffer a deficit since already budgeted money had to be curtailed to pay for this nonsense. Jeez!

  5. If this amount was truly spent then it is much better than spending billions again on another perpetual Constitution Review Commission.

Look at the money that has been gobbled by previous governments on this Constitution in the name of review commission. Almost all the names of gallant Zambians have been used in the naming these different commissions. It is must better that it is now over – no more funny reviews. I applaud Lungu for putting his foot down over this issue that has gobbled billions of Kwacha.

  6. On this one, I am equally disappointed this is too much money just for signing. Please Mr. President grow up before it is too late for you, these are the things you perceive as petty but they have far much greater ramifications than you can fathom. There is a lot of poverty around you mind you, and your actions need to be that of a seasoned leader not kuwayawaya like form 5 drop out, be a man for once! Otherwise we love you and need you to lead this country for now looking at the agenda ahead, but you must strengthen your knuckles so that your fists become vicious so that you don’t allow fanciful little events such as the two previous ones, prayers and signing, these are for weaklings.

  7. State house would have been the best place to have that document signed with three or four znbc cameras LOOKING at him signing. 4.89million kwacha was a wastage.

  8. Pipo With Little Minds Wasting Time Over Constitution Signing Ceremony Cost, U Dont Value Ur Country En Ur Not A Proud Citizentry.

    • If you have nothing worthy to say just shut up. Do you not see the grave misuse of money here?
Every govt has to prioritize. Did you even read or understand the article? Just shut up!!!
