  1. WHILE MY PEOPLE HAVE NO FOOD, NO JOBS AND NO HOPE. YOU DECIDE TO BUILD SUCH A FANCY PLACE OF WORSHIP. LUNGU SHOULD HAVE PRIORIES. YOU CANNOT DO THIS TO MY PEOPLE – THE ZAMBIAN PEOPLE. THEY DESERVE BETTER LIVES. A FANCY PLACE OF WORSHIP THAT WILL COST MILLIONS OF DOLLARS AT THEIR EXPENSE IS NOT A WAY OF BETTER LIFE. I DON’T THINK THE LORD ALMIGHTY CARES ABOUT THE COST OF THE FACILITY BUT SOMEONE’S FAITH AND DOING THE RIGHT THING FOR OTHERS, ESPECIALLY THE POOR. LUNGU SHOULD RECONSIDER THIS.

    • the money is not from gvt coffers, but from donors. So I don’t know where Lungu comes in. We know we hate Lungu but let us not put his name in everything even wen he is not directly involved.

    • @Smelly C: You are so shallow minded, sorry to say. When you can explain the source you simply say Donors? Is that a disguised term money from corruption! Who on earth in their normal mind would donate money to LUNGU without expectation for contracts or deals, etc paid from Tax Payers’ funds? Lungu on his own doesnt even have a company and has nothing to offer!
      @Smelly C – you are an Ar.sewhorE, Mother fu.cker!!

    • Looks like every president has to live a building. Chiluba made a house of democracy next to arcades. Sata made university, ba lungu house of prayer.

    • The poor shall always live with us whether we have enough food, jobs or hope. Ain’t nothing wrong with the move. Only the devil and his sons will get agitated. This house is gonna be built whether some nigga likes it or not! 🙂

    • Zambians too gullible! House of prayer for whom? The missionary who made Africans hold the Bible as a diversion while reaping the national resources! Here the Lungu gimmick is to make believe he is godly and the gullible Zambians swallow it hook, line and sinker! 500 meters away is a life saving institution neither receiving the attention it required nor urging donations that would help improve services yet focus and energies are being diverted to the House of Prayer for obvious political expediency! I am Catholic and I have a parish I belong to just like many other Zambians who belong to other denominations!

    • WISE, WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM. EVEN IF YOU DEFECTED TO CANADA WITHOUT SUKULU JUST BY LIVING IN THAT COUNTRY YOU WOULD BY NOW HAVE KNOWN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A GOVERNMENT INSTITUTION AND A CHARITABLE INSTITUTION. DIFFERENTIATE A DONATION TOWARDS A RELIGIOUS INSTITUTION FROM A GRANT TO A GOVERNMENT. THE DONATION MENTIONED IS NOT FROM PUBLIC COFFERS BUT FROM INDIVIDUALS, GROUPS OF INDIVIDUALS, COMPANIES ETC.

    • I JUST HOPE THAT THIS HEEP IS NOT THE ACTUAL DESIGN OF WHAT PEOPLE ARE DONATING MONEY TOWARDS. REALLY, PA ZAMBIA DO WE HAVE QUALIFIED ARCHITECTS AND ARCHITECTURAL ENGINEERS? A SCHOOL LEAVER WITH TECHNICAL DRAWING SKILLS CAN DRAW THAT HEEP OF SOMETHING. GUYS, BE SERIOUS.

    • Ritual killings are done in God’s name. Stup.id people with corrupt minds don’t wanna get it. They read the bible selectively: “Sword of God…., Blod of the lamb…., vengeance is mine…”

  2. Even Our Redeemer Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ once said; the POOR shall always be among us. This is why we have to continue with works of MERCY for the welfare of the POOR, but that does no stop the Nation from embarking on construction of various HUGE National Infrastructure like the House Prayer which most likely is going to be built using Donations from well-wishers and contributions from people of Goodwill. In the same spirit like the way we contributed to construction of the University of Zambia before 1966..when workers marketeers, business houses, and ordinary street-walkers- (abenda mushiki) who put their resources together and realized the dream of having the first university in Zambia! Even today, God bless this Huge Project for your own glory!

    • Why do we even bother to solve the poverty problem since God himself wants them around? Counter intuitive, don’t you think? And here you are calling yourselves Christians. B.S!

  3. The land on which this useless house of prayers will be built is government land which was preserved for construction of government offices. HH, when voted into power must put a stop to this rubbish

    • HH will not be voted in because as you have demonstrated, you are at odds with your fellow citizens. You don’t understand nor share in the things they find of importance.

You are really people of no vision. You can’t see the uselessness of your message to the people. How is it possible for people to vote in haters who laugh when the country suffers economic woes? Now, you will prevent them building a Donor paid for building to celebrate their faith in God.

    • @ ‘Un’ Patriot Abroad the Institute for Democratic Studies proposed by Chiluba would have added a lot of value to the nation in its quest for good governance. I do not see the value that the House of Prayer that is government driven and in conflict with church denominations that Zambians are aligned to will add to the christianity in the country. Agreeing with Kabova this misplacement of priorities has to be stopped as we are not short of churches where to congregate.

  4. Conspiracy, after all, is not just “Business-As-Usual;” it’s also “Government-As-Usual.”

  5. Has consensus been reached by all stakeholders, especially the people of Zambia, otherwise when other leaders who are not believers in GOD take over, will come & repossess it & make it an idol worshiping place, example being the former UNIP HQ which is now Govt Complex housing various govt ministries instead of accommodating Tilyenji Kaunda’s UNIP. Open up public debate. What is the building specifications, seating capacity, parking capacity, number of floors, facilities to be included like modern kitchen, swimming pool for baptism purpose, the nave, aisles, transept, expansion plans.etc? In Zambia we always want to keep people praying on empty stomachs when not fasting, even when the country has produced maize, rice, wheat in abundance and if an effort is made to feed people, organisers…

    • In Zambia we always want to keep people praying on empty stomachs when not fasting, even when the country has produced maize, rice, wheat in abundance and if an effort is made to feed people, organisers end up stealing everything for their homes.

  6. The problem is that these people interpret the Bible wrongly to their own advantages without telling clout Jesus

  7. Each time King David honoured his God,each time he repented and sought the face of God,God’s favour was upon, not only King David, but also on the entire nation. The poor will always be amongst us,no matter what we do.Ask the US ,UK and other nations!Even Christ himself stated so.It is those who honour God who will receive.Let us all pray that the House of God is supported by genuine Christians. If the nation is blessed, the span of those blessings will touch more people than what the government will through its social safety nets.It is the church which is commissioned to look after the less fortunate in our society.

    • The house of God will not transform the lives of the poor or the ignorant. There are poor people, yes, in the nations you have mentioned but not on the scale you find in black communities the world over and yet there are more houses of worship in these communities.
What the nation needs, at this moment in time, is the ability to educate the nation in the ability to think outside the box.
Learn from countries that are successful and yet have no resources.
The Zambian defence forces should have been at forefront of arming the young people with skills but like every thing else in Zambia, the nation look to the impotent leadership.

  8. This is the most *****ic idea have ever heard and the person who came up with this idea is clueless, visionless, brainless, useless, lifeless, hopeless, dullness and a drunkard bukAl.a bwakwe.

  9. This is the most *****ic idea and planning coming from the most *****ic president who is clueless, visionless, brainless, useless, dullness, hopeless, lifeless and a drunkard, hope his soul will rot in hell buka.la bwakwe.

  10. God has blessed us with natural resources. Let us stop crying but find means and ways of exploiting our resources for the economic advancement of our nation. That house of prayer will consume imported fixtures and fittings, the worshippers will dress imported clothes and so on and forth, with zero impact on the economy. If that plot and resources were being applied to a centre of excellence in scientific research, I would support it. We are poor not because of few churches but poor mindset and m misapplied priorities. The Boers found modern Cape Town full full of snakes and a total bush, but go South and see what hard work can yield.

  11. Are we a blessed or a cursed nation. Please satan take your idio.tic person you have imposed on us as a president because he his too clueless, visionless, useless, hopeless, dullness, lifeless, brainless,a drunkard and a hardcore swindler evidence is their at Laz he had his law license suspended for stealing from his clients.

  12. intellectual bankruptcy at its best,,,,a ti a lawyer is our head of state,,yaagghh baa calibre -ve,,,,,,i rest my case. very sad no wonder we can never make progress in zambia, too docile and impressionable..ati “inftu ni lungu” very loughable indeed. naba dora niba minister kkkkkk

  13. Have you raised the needed $10m? Typical of PF politics: You begin to build after raising 0.001% of the money required, typical of “things will solve themselves as we go on”.

  14. NEGATIVE THOUGHTS BRING ABOUT NEGATIVE ACTIONS, DEASESES DO NOT COME FROM HOSPITALS BUT TAKEN THERE, PASTORS DO NOT COLLECT OFFERING FROM YOUR HOMES BUT YOU TAKE OFFERING TO THEM AT CHURCH, SIN DOES NOT START FROM BARS AND LODGES BUT TAKEN THERE BY SINFUL MINDS, YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT. THE POINT IS THAT DEVELOPMENT STARTS FROM OUR HEADS THEN OUR HOMES NOT IN THE STREETS, LETS CLEAN UP OUR THOUGHTS AND HOMES TO BECOME OUR DREAMS, ITS NOT A ONE MAN SHOW BUT ALL OF US.

  15. THE WORD OF PEOPLE HAVE NO POWER …if spoken not knowing who God is.
ALLOW GOD TO USE YOU TO SPEAK HIS WORD…then you will see miracles.
The Building is only a Place for Gods People to meet and Pray.
Allow God to live in your Body-Mind-Sole…then you will understand Your mission for GODS WILL.
BEHOLD MY SON ….YOUR TONGUE CAN SPEAK DEATH or LIFE ..
THINK BEFORE YOU OPEN YOUR MOUTH TO CRITISIZE GODS WORK & WILL FOR HIS PEOPLE-NATION.

  16. Sometimes I personally think we Christians contradict what we preach due to misplaced priorities. Do we really believe Jesus will come? If we do, where should we spend 10.m usd? Structures! I don’t see that with people with the conviction of Maranatha in the book or acts…honestly this is not sowing a seed in good soil…the famous phrase.

  17. Am God fearing but this project in the midst of excruciating poverty is a no brainer. We already have houses of worship throughout the country. The money to be raised for this project can change the lives of thousands of poor Zambians forever.

  18. This is completely barmy. This is nothing but a scum to use Public Funds on the pretext that the funders are Zambian Christians living abroad. And in so doing these scammers will award themselves dubious contracts using their friends as fronts.
I am a Christian and I can categorically say this is an affront to Christianity.

    • It is wrong and immoral to take Public Funds and use it to construct a Church when the public constitutes different faiths and nonfaiths, i.e. Moslems, Buddhists, Hindus, Traditional Witch-doctors, atheists etc…

  19. The problem is with the state of journalism in the country. I read a story and I am left with more questions. Reporters should not just publish press releases, they should ask more questions otherwise people like me are left with no clue as to which comment bears truth.
