Zambia International Investment Forum 2016 Launch: Zambian Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry Margaret Mhango Mwanakatwe delivering her speech

Government says it will continue to support all investments aimed at accelerating the country’s social and economic progression.

ZANIS reports that Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry Margaret Mwanakatwe said government will support investments that will empower Zambians to fulfil their social obligations.

Mrs. Mwanakatwe said it is against this background that government has continued to create a conducive environment for all investors wishing to invest in the country’s vast economic sectors.

The Minister said this when she officiated at the opening and launch of Trade Car View Zambia Limited offices and showroom in Lusaka today.

Mrs. Mwanakatwe praised the Japanese motor company for investing in Zambia and urged the company to comply with the domestic rules and regulations in carrying out its investment in Zambia.

She reassured the company of government’s support and protection of its investment and the interests of all its stakeholders in its quest to improving the quality of life of Zambians

And Japanese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Zambia Kiyoshi Koinuma said his country remains committed to double its development cooperation to Zambia in human resources development for industrial promotion.

Mr. Koinuma assured of Japanese companies adherence to providing quality and durable products that will contribute to the country’s gross domestic product.

  1. In what capacity is she speaking in because cabinet was dissolved when parliament was dissolved. There is a good reason that parliament and political cabinet was dissolved in the past so as to not interfere with the campaign period. Professional Permanent secretaries and the cabinet appointed from professional people who are not politicians could still carry out Government work without political interference. But they rejected the clause for appointing professional cabinet outside of politics, against the will of Zambians even though they claim they were representing Zambians during the constitution deliberations, this defies all logic.

    • Maggie looks kisseable and sleepeable, why is still dreesing up as minister when there is no cabinet?

    • She IS NOT A MINISTER – SHE IS A THIEF IF SHE CLAIMS SO!!!!!!And who IS/ARE SO DAFT TO BELIEVE THIS WOMAN & her ba PamaFi????????

WHY IS THE JUDICIARY – Which IS SUPPOSED TO PROTECT & INTERPRET THE CONSTITUTION, NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT????? The EX-minister of JUSTICE Should be helping his ERRANT CHAKOLWA TO FOLLOW THE LAW – heck, the chap is probably drowning in “Simba”, can now understand the derivation: “Simbayakula!!”

Vote Wisely 11/8/2016!! Vote Zambia FORWARD!! VOTE UPND!! Abantu baya!!

      #chagwamustfall!! PamaFikuyabebele!!

      I thank you!!

    • You shouldn’t have allowed them to set base in Zambia. Trade Carview sells second hand cars in which business most Zambians are relying for their livelihood. They’ll have a very big competitive advantage over Zambians because they buy cars directly from Auction houses in Japan where an ordinary Zambian cannot have access to because their govnt in Japan has put protective measures for there citizens livelihood who are in thís business. It’s over such a similar business that Sata rebuked guy Scott. You killing even the little businesses where Zambians are earning their income…………shame on you Mwanakatwe.

  2. She must be joking. T
en days ago she said that protection of “Intellectual Property Rights” in Zambia is well bellow accepted international standards due to “archaic statutory provisions” and now she assures protection!?!

What a muppet of ex Minister. Absolutely useless.

  3. How can foreign investments be safe in a country without Rule of Law? The very Mwanalatwe is working illegally as a Minister after Parliament was dissolved. The greatest mistake that Lungu has made is this one. As President sworn on oath of office he shouldn’t have kept his Ministers in office illegally. Lungu has done this to his advantage so that his Ministers can campaign for him and themselves using state resources and state machinery. Furthermore Lungu has kept his Ministers to help him rig the elections for him and PF. Lungu, just on this one has lost votes from all right thinking Zambians. How can we as voters vote for a candidate who has no respect for the law and good governance?Lungu is relying on rigging to retain power and protect himself, his Ministers and RB from prosecution…

  4. Mugwileni Kawalala uyo……………………………………………..Protect who ‘s resources you moron?Investors are not stupid either. They know your story quiet well that parliarment is been dissolved and that you are acting illegally. They know how desperate you are, therefore, they are using you to enter the Zambian market because under Sata,no such cheap companies were allowed in.They ll use you & promise to pay you later when in such time you ll be gone! Hahahahhhahahaa

  5. Even the Boers that Sata denied entry have now been allowed to settle in Zambia. And mind you the Boer group is not just made out of 27 farmers, they are in thousands seeking to leave South Africa. They started pushing for Zambia way back in 2012 and Sata has been refusing stating that they wud bring Apartheid to Zambia. Now under your drunkard bum all the criminals are flocking to Zambia in the name of Investors even a personal that opens up a car showroom. And Lungu or his ministers will be there to assure them of safety because they know the story that these are criminals which are being hunted in there countries for malpractices.

  6. Strange that a Minister sees it fit to open a used car showroom ?

Investment entails the creation of something. Maybe a factory, a farm etc.

But this is only about selling someone elses goods, not about making anything.

Are these the infestors that Sata decried ?

  7. Well, they want to keep on stealing from us and refusing to give us access to justice. I bought a vehicle from Autorec in Japan at USD16,000 in 2008.
Autorec transported it nicely from Japan to Durban and VDS South Africa transported it nicely to Lusaka and I paid full carriage services, Just because I was out of the country SDV and ZRA conspired and stole that vehicle by lying to me that they were clearing it duty free because I bought three vehicles all at once in the country, when they had actually stollen it. They were caught driving it and bashed it and got it just like that. When I came back home and followed up with them, msiska lied that they had disposed off the vehicle under customs and execise act. You can’t imagine how these thugs abuse state machinery to steal from us. I…
