Al Ahly to land on Friday

Sports Al Ahly to land on Friday

Zesco United’s 2016 CAF Champions League opponents Al Ahly will land at dawn on Friday.

The record eight time African champions will face Zesco in a Group A opener on Saturday in a 15h30 kickoff at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

“Al Ahly will land at 01h00 on Friday morning and fly back to Cairo immediately after the match,” Zesco spokesperson Katebe Chengo said.

ASEC of Cote d’Ivoire and Wydad Casablanca from Morocco are the other teams in Group A.

Zesco are the first Zambian team to qualify to the CAF Champions League group stage twice.

They were the first Zambian club to qualify to a CAF club cup group phase competition in 2009 when they finished third in Group A under the late Fighton Simukonda.
