Republican Vice President Inonge Wina says the Patriotic Front led Government will for the next five years focus on improving agriculture countrywide if Zambians re-elect them in the forthcoming 2016 general elections, reports Pan African Radio Journalist Hermit Hachilonde.

Speaking when she addressed hundreds of PF supporters at a campaign rally in Chikankata District in the Southern Province, Ms. Wina reiterated the PF government’s commitment to uplifting the lives of citizens at household and national levels.

Ms. Wina explained that it is for this reason that the PF Administration will in their next five year mandate be devoted to agriculture as the mainstay of the country’s economy.

The Vice president stressed the need to harness agriculture in a bid to better the livelihood of Zambians.

“In the next five years the PF government will focus on improving agriculture” Ms. Wina said
And Ms Wina who is also PF candidate Edgar Lungu’s Presidential running mate in the forthcoming general polls said her party will ensure that deliberate policies are put in place to diversify the agriculture sector by encouraging farmers to embrace other crops as opposed to focusing on maize alone but also promoting livestock farming.

She said this is why the PF administration has embarked on building deep tanks countrywide especially in areas where water is a challenge.

“we will promote diversification in agriculture that is why we are building deep tanks in the country” she said

Speaking at the same event, Southern Province Minister Nathaniel Mubukwanu urged Zambians not to experiment with national leadership.

Mr Mubukwanu said among the presidential candidates and their running mates, no one’s pedigree matches that of President Lungu and his team as they are more experienced in governing the nation.

He advised the electorate against voting the opposition as doing so will be done at their own peril.
The Provincial minister further warned that Zambians risk committing political suicide if they elect the opposition who barely have experience in presiding over national affairs.

“among all the presidential candidates and their running mates no one is more experienced like Edgar Lungu and Inonge wina, so Zambians should not risk giving a mandate to the opposition” he said
Meanwhile, Chikankata constituency PF parliamentary aspirant Kavwumbu Hakachima seized the opportunity Hakachima to unreservedly apologize to the people of Chikankata constituency who may have unknowingly and knowingly offended during her tenure of office as District Commissioner.

Ms. Hakachima who curbed her resentment and swallowed her pride pointed out that sometimes people offend others unintentionally, adding that humbling oneself to apologize to such individuals is cardinal for the sake of oneness as a people in the district and the country as a whole.
“I apologize to those I offended when I was a District Commissioner” she said

  1. Why are you showing us Wina at Heroes Stadium instead of showing us the rally in Chikankata.? It will be tough for PF candidate Kumvumbu because she is facing someone from the Mwiinga family. Hakachima family is known for allogancy around Chikankata area and her brother was just stealing items from secondary school where he was working as a general worker. An apology for offending people in less than a year you were an administrator will never work. We know you are supported by Chieftainess Mwenda who was flown to the USA by Lungu as tourist but her subjects do not like her. Hospital and secondary staff do not like Kamvumbu and the chieftainess.

  2. LT are we getting camera shy? This is about the third time our vice president is being covered minus pictures to place the story in context:). A bit hard to imagine how a rally attended by ‘hundreds’ of supporters looks like. And we miss the ‘This week in pictures’ feature. Thanks. ps, any idea when our republican president is hitting the trail….anyone…..ba Davis or ba Frank???

  3. Only after FIVE YEARS of PF Government have they woken up to agriculture???? You were sleeping!

And only now after the ECONOMY HAS COLLAPSED and you have finished all the money from EUROBONDS you are talking about agriculture???

You had five years and did NOTHING! Why should we believe it will be any different if we give you another five years??

  4. Gogo Inonge Wina the Panga Family was given 5 yrs in 2011 to transform Agriculture. So what did yr party do and what did u achieve? Gogo don’t u think at yr age u should now retire and go and play with yr grand children? They will give u gratuity to live on.

  5. Lip service to agriculture.

    Lip service to political violence

SILENCE ON HOW THE TEN BILLION DOLLARS PF HAVE BORROWED IS GOING TO BE REPAID!

SILENCE ON THE IMF AND STRUCTURAL ADJUSTMENT PROGRAM THAT PF IS BRINGING TO ZAMBIA!

We are tried of your old speeches. We have heard them all before and they are empty words without action.

  6. Fix agriculture in the next five years sounds like a good idea. But what have you been doing in the last five years?another five years translates into Ten years. So you want 10years just to fix agriculture? How many years will you ask for to fix mining then-25years? or 30?

  7. When I look at PF and the things they say often comes out as if they are just regurgitating stuff. It’s like someone wakes up from a dream and pukes whatever nonsense and then makes it headline news. Mama Wina please you have become of age to be telling lies to your future generations and this needs to stop. You just have to admit PF is not moving forward and is actually experiencing The Great Depression of 1929. We need a new government and this time people with skills, education and brains to turn our economy upside down from what it is. Shame on PF!
