The Muchinga Police Commissioner has called on police officers to engage in prayer as the country goes to the polls on August 11, this year.

Auxensio Daka made the call yesterday during a prayer day organised by the Police in Muchinga under the theme: “A crime, violence-free Zambia towards 2016 election and unity within Zambia police.”

Mr Daka charged that there is need for police to incorporate prayer together with other security measures that are already in place as they execute their duties.

He said the success of a smooth and peaceful police operations, despite the protective tools they are equipped with such as guns, tear gas, protective shields, and short buttons among others, without God by their side, cannot be achieved.

The Police Commissioner stressed the need for police officers to remain neutral if a violent-free campaign and election is to be attained in the province and the country at large.

Mr Daka added that police officers are peace-makers and, therefore, their political affiliation should not be seen in their line of duty.

He encouraged the officers to be in constant prayer for the nation and the department as the Church also prays.

The day of prayer was presided over by Chinsali Pastors’ Fellowships that led the police officers in prayer for forgiveness, reconciliation, protection for the officers and all heads of sections and advisers at the high command.

  1. Hey guys, get up and go out there to create the peace. I am also a Christian but I believe that God has given us brains, authourity, skills, and so many other gifts so that we use. Police have all these to create peace, doctors also have thei own skills to save lives, etc, etc. if this is the case, then all of us (from various professions) should stop going for work and just pray 24 hours a day

    • @ Umwina Kristu…I like your statement…tell these fukn redards, they are putting God to test, when they have all the authority granted by him to act…Which God can bring a cup of water to your table when you can reach it by your own hand at the sink….????

    • What hypocrites! Why pray before going out to bash opposition members and framing them? You are “Christians for Lungu”, indeed, you Police Force (PF).

  2. is it not in Luapula where UPND posters were removed? but thank you data. you are better than kanganja and the lusaka pastors who are christians for lungu. remember that lungs will not be there forever. kk wamuyaya is no longer there. learn to be neutral in your operations

  3. It is said that prayer and faith without action is dead. If God is to answer our prayers, you the police should not be seen to be selecting who to arrest and charge wherever there’s violence. If you are seen to be selecting, those prayers are of no use.

  4. What do you expect if the police go on their knees for crimes committed in broad daylight in their presence by known thugs and criminals? So these *****s expect God to come down and do it for them?
It is time cadres started beating them for being useless.
Let them pray for God to deal with the author of violence in Zambia that evil man.

  5. Really laughable ….this what religion does to you…what a sad sight. Folly of the highest order even praying in uniform meaning that they are on duty!!

  6. Great. US a very strong police force but we receive information of mass killings everyday. It doesn’t mean they are not working, crime is crime and the criminality is usually spontaneous. When the President places police officers to man streets, many start saying Zambia is becoming a police state, the road blocks are increased to to check for criminality, they say it’s too much, he calls soldiers to man streets in times of catastrophy ati be is out of order..too petty

    • In Zambia when the Police Force (PF) are deployed just know that they are either looking for lunch money or they are out to fix the opposition. They are the most dysfunctional police fascists (PF) in the world.

  7. A welcome image to see, a police officer should actually be the first friendly force that any citizen should confidently go to. We pray that things will change for the better in August. Forward ever, backward never. Our votes are secured for HH and the UPND.

  8. It is very rare for the men and women in uniform to be seen kneeling down for a prayer. The person who organised this prayer Day seems to really mean it and therefore should be supported. My only worry is that with Stephen Kapyongo in their midst, this former Shiwang’andu member of Parliament is not known to like peace and may not allow it in his constituency because terrorists don’t like peace and he he is one of them. The people of Shiwang’andu constituency should first get rid of Stephen Kapyongo and only then should they start talking about peace.

  9. Never seen this type idiosyncrasy in my life time. We are really and really a mentally colonised pipo to the core…
