President Edgar Lungu has urged Zambians not to experiment with leadership as the country goes to the polls on August 11.

The President says unlike opposition leaders, he has demonstrated that he can be trusted.

President Lungu has explained that voting for PF entails endorsing unity and development.

The President says he is happy to preside over a party founded on principles of helping the vulnerable in society.

President Lungu said this during at a rally at Katombora grounds in Mazabuka where he was drumming up support for PF candidates.

He said the PF has done well in the short period that it has been in power.

President Lungu said despite the people of Mazabuka not having given PF enough votes in last year’s elections, he has not been selective in developing the area.

He also said people should not listen to those mocking his government that people will not eat roads because a good road network is a catalyst to development.

    • As President Lungu dives into the valley areas of Southern Province, he will pick up some sense of serious rivalry in the province with the local there holding deep dissatisfaction of the so called plateau elites. They are resented for a historic mentality of horse and rider. The people of the valley have been abused and held under siege by the plateau folks for ages. Even the Chundu chaitwa coined by the plateau elites is considered useless among the valley tribes as it only serves to massage the ego of the plateau folks leaving the valleys in abject poverty.

    • @Senior Citizen: the poverty of the valley Tongas was brought about by the neglect by the Zambian govt, from KK up to Chakolwa. Projects like the Bottom Road has been talked about for 40 years. Tourism is nonexistent, apart from Siavonga, despite having one of the largest expanses of water. The plateau Tongas are not too blame for this malicious neglect of the valley Tongas. Learn some history.

    • Not sure which trust this incompetent person is referring to:
      1. Explanation of your sudden wealth is required??????????????????????????
      2. Why befriend dictators who have deprived their people
      3. Numerous elections irregularities linked to your actions????
      4. Surrounded by thugs and criminals of all sorts
      5. Worst economic management compared to all previous presidents
      6. Brings violence and cannot arrest the well-known PF thugs that even almost kill each other
      Mr. incompetent president, I think you need help. Serious help and that will come if just pack your bags and leave this country to be run by those that want to improve the lives of others. By the way government money is tax money, paid by the Zambians and should be used for Zambians. What you are and the job of a president…

    • Buck teeth
      Learn some history. The valley tonga are poor because of the poor mentality. ECL is building the bottom road so we will see if they will become rich. Maybe they should also become involved in the privatisation of some government companies

    • @1,2, Very shallow knowledge certainly because you know and care very little about the people in the valley of SP. The issue is not to blame KK and consecutive leaders who pushed so much but consistently frustrated by the elites from the plateau areas who have held the people of that region under siege for a Chuundu Chaitwa cause that has nothing to do with the valley. It is a fact that the Chuundu Chaitwa and its Nazi symbol is a failed project. Do you know that they have lived to fight every development project mindlessly including the Kafue Gorge project? Talk of roads, schools, hospitals and bridges, they say no projects until its our Chuundu time to rule. Its reverse logic. The people of the valley need to liberate themselves and move with Zambia. This Chuundu fimo fimo has no future…

  1. Thank you SP for according the president a cordial and peaceful reception…..one wonders how such a violent province can show such warmth to the president. Not a single incidence of heckling or outright insults from our tonga brothers and sisters. And yet they are the most violent and tribal in the entire country! Really?? I mean, seriously?? Come on guys:-) (FTJ) Meanwhile Forward chabe with team HH and UPND.

    • Chakolwa should be ashamed of the shameless and tribal insults be has been throwing at the Tongas. This man is possessed by the Devil. What have they done to him for him to keep on calling them bakachema and the most violent people in Zambia? Chakolwa is such an unfair charlatan and Eurobond looter. Has he paid taxes to ZRA on the K23m he earned last year, an amount that is inconsistent with his official remuneration?

  2. PF has showed that it is a useless party involved in reckless spending,pangas,violence,intimadation and regionalism.Thus,we can not allow you to continue dividing us wiith people like Mumbi Phiri,Kambwili,Frank Bwalya and Davies Chama.
    Are not ashamed to be in the province of the so called Kachemas?

  3. PF = division
    PF = Tribalism
    PF = Hunger
    PF = Violence
    PF = Load-shedding
    PF = DUNUNA REVERSE
    THEREFORE FORWARD WITH HH.

    • UNPD up and down
      UPND tribalism
      UPDN violence
      UPND copycats, Copy hats Copy songs Copy ideas
      UDND Dununa forward (copy cats)

  4. LUNGUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU Cllllllllllllllllllllllluuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggggguuuuuuuuuuuuu FOR LIFE
    don’t vote for tonga tribalists

  5. UPND cadres have nothing to comment on this story hence commenting out of topic. instead question how is going to achieve the promises, but busy talking about how he acquired his wealth without having facts about what he declared in the last election. lastly this attitude by most up and down supporters of insulting & taking lungu as if he is your cousin should come to an end. & learn respect leaders regardless
    of who they are.

    • Chuundu – I am not surprised. They are so disappointed with the warm reception that the president received. They wanted chaos, shunning the rally and embarrassment for the president. When the President shouts “One Zambia” people listen, even their HH who earlier rubbished this important slogan now shouts it. Well done people of Zambia – ignore prophets of doom.

  7. Trust is priceless but how does one trust a person who:
    1. As a lawyer steals trust money from a client and is de-barred by LAZ as a lawyer.
    2. Lungu has stolen K13million within 16 months from govt coffers and has not paid tax on it.
    3.Lungu has introduced a culture of violence in Zambia. This unprecedented.
    4. Cost of living is very high and people cant afford to buy basic food stuffs including mealie meal
    5. No Zesco power no business activity.
    6. Lungu is a visionless, clueless, heartless drunkard
    I can go on and on. Lungu has proved that he is a hypocrite and cannot be trusted.

  8. He said nothing of substance. Ba LT are you sure this is all he said? Very disappointing if it’s the case.

    Trust me? Why should anyone trust politicians anyway.

    Yes, roads are important and so are other productive investments in agriculture agro-business, tourism, energy, social welfare etc etc. People need to be empowered. Clearly, these guys have no clue what must be done in these areas. All they can talk about are roads.

  9. MR BACK TEETH LUNGU
    PLEASE LET ME TELL U THAT IT U HH FAILURES WHO ARE FAILURES DOOMED TO BE FAILURES. WE THE MIGHT BEMBA AND NGONI BROTHERS SHALL RULE YOU FAILURES BECAUSE YOU ARE FAILURES. NO BEEF FROM IMBWA TONGA FAILURES FOR FAILURES. HATE WILL CHOKE YOU TO DEATH YOU FAILURE. DO YOU NOW UNDERSTAND YOU FAILURE OF THE INFERIOR TONGA TRIBE OF FAILURES. MWE MAFI IFITONGA
    ECL BY TE BEMBA OF THE NGONI FOREVER

  10. President Lungu is either out of his mind or thinks Zambians are naive to trust him. Lungu should know that Trust is earned and during the last 5 years we have known Lungu he has clearly demonstrated that he is not trustworthy and those who trust him do so at their own peril. Lungu stole a client’s money, he has stolen K13million public funds, he preaches peace during the day and sends PF thugs to attack opposition supporters, he is right busy stealing our votes right now etc. Lungu is a heartless hypocrite and a thug of note and no sane Zambian should vote for him or trust him. Lungu has proved to be a disaster for Zambia and should never have been elected President. Lungu must go at all costs. Viva HH ,GBM and UPND.

  11. This is last time this Under 5 will ever make noise to us, we are going to bury him alive on 11 August 2016. The UPND must accept that HH has failed and has no direction whatsoever, and there is no difference between him and Nevers Mumba.
    Let the chap return the money he stole during the privatization instead of dreaming that he can be in State House, its a bluff.

    • My vote is for HH and UPND.

      HH is already mega rich. He doesn’t need to steal like Lungu has done ; K15 million in one year….yooohhhh!
