The unexpected happened in Ndola around 17hrs on Friday 8th July. Two campaign motorcades for UPND and PF coming from opposite directions met and stopped for a while at one junction where taxis operate from. The UPND group loudly playing their campaign song Aleisa Aleisa, their colleagues where also playing their hit song Dununa reverse. Suddenly all passers by including cab drivers stood still wondering what was going to happen. The two groups were now dancing and flashing their party symbols and looked like they had respect for each other. This cheered the public who joined in the celebrations, most of them saying this is how we should live as a nation. We must coexist.

Whilst out on a rural campaign,a UPND campaign team rescued a PF team that was stuck in the middle of nowhere in rural Muchinga province. People continue to co-exist in harmony despite having divergent political views.

    • @Saulosi, your PF need learn from Miles Sampa. That picture of Miles helping is an iconic symbol of peace.
Organize a soccer tournament with all opposition backing UPND vs PF-ZP selection. Referee should be Nawakwi, the woman who rocks!!

    • Vote for Edith on the lines of UK and USA that are going to have women chief executives.

Let it be a tribute to the lady killed in violent skirmishes between UPND and police.

Women of Zambia, vote en masse for Edith Nawakwi.

Let the men fight amongst themselves. We the women voters shall vote for one of us for a Real Change. Women are builders whilst the political men are destroyers and corrupt.

    • WE HAVE ALWAYS CO-EXISTED AS ZAMBIANS. IT IS ONLY THIS BLOOD THIRSTY VAMPIRE , THIS MOSLEM JIHADIST AND SATANIST CALLED EDGAR LUNGU WHOM WE BY MISTAKE ALLOWED TO BE PRESIDENT OF MOTHER ZAMBIA WHO HAS BROUGHT IN THIS EVIL KILLING CULTURE IN OUR PEACEFUL COUNTRY. LUNGU IS A MURDERER. HE HAS KILLED A LOT OF OUR YOUTHS ALREADY, JUST OVER ONE YEAR OF BEING IN POWER. THE KILLING CULTURE LUNGU HAS INTRODUCED CAN ONLY BE ELIMINATED IF WE CAN ALL JOIN HANDS AND VOTE FOR CHANGE, VOTE FOR HH AND UPND TEAM. LUNGU IS A CURSED LEADER, HIS OBSESSION FOR POWER HAS DRIVEN HIM CRAZY.

  1. Tolerance and mutual respect is what will unite this country. This culture of insulting and demeaning people we do not agree with is what leads to fights. Let us learn to tolerate people with views different from us and respect them. Even when they disagree with us let us show tolerance and respect for their views. It helps no one to be intolerant, disrespectful and to fight those we do not agree with. It is failure to reason to do so.

  2. The pamafi party president instead of taken action against his fellow clueless and visionless members he is always encouraging and blaming the opposition.

    • @lutuku Presdo,
Language like that should NOT be used in moments like this. Please learn to tell when to say what.

  3. In all spheres looks upnd has bn the helping hand.zambians can live in peace but the top leadership of the pf lacks pragmatic solutions.

  4. It is in lusakas high density areas that lungu does not want competition from the opposition. It is in these areas where PF thugs are allowed to pay them selves by harassing and blackmailing citizens of their hard earned manee.
That is where you find the most PF thuggery.

  5. All I can say is that these cadres are in fact a hundred times better that the Zambian police ……..

  6. Lets for once comment positively. This is the way to live and we must be ashamed of ourselves in Lusaka that we fight yet in other towns the UPND and PF cardes live in peace.

    • You are very right Mary. Was in Livingstone last weekend and I amazed at the level of co-existence. Flags for different parties flew side by side at taxi ranks, bus stops and markets. People wore their party regalia freely. They debated thier different view points free. It was so nice to see and refreshing.

  7. Lungu Litole!! This is what Lungu should be encouraging, we Zambians are peaceful by nature. Lungu will change this.

    • @kambwili,
First ask yourself:- What are you yourself encouraging by describing President Lungu like that?

  8. LT thanks for this bring up this article, at least something positive and this is what most of us are calling for all the this time.
But as you might have observed, even when its clear normal people are appreciating this article, you still find a few dunderheads who still can not get it.
In memory of Mapatizya, please refrain from all hatred words and lets all encourage this type of behavior displayed by both PF and UPND cadres in this article.
If your heart is full of hatred, please get out and don`t poison this forum here.
TIYENDE PAMODZI NDI MUTIMA UMA, UNPD TIYE, PF TIYE, TIYENDE PAMODZI DI MUTIMA UMO!!!!

  9. that’s Zambians are known to the outside world,co-existing.Bamano sana ama cadres ayo for their mature behaviour.I think even majority bloggers on this report have shown maturity ebuntu ubu.Together we can maintain and preserve our peace.God bless zambia

  10. There still areas on the Copperbelt where PF supporters are harassing the other party. Kawama, in Ndola, is a good example. Whenever the PF campaign group hears the other group, they follow then to harass them.

  11. Zambians by nature are peaceful, but unfortunately leaders who feel their grip on power is loosening, put money into mostly poverty stricken citizens, & advise them to brutalise their own country folk, leading to a powder keg of T.N.T.
Zambians, look after one another, & please don’t die for these greedy corrupt leaders.

  12. That is the way to go. Co- exist as we are above all Zambians irrespective of our party loyalties. Abash political violence and let us campaign peacefully. No hate language but issue based campaigns!

  13. This is what Zambia is at its core. At the end of the day the politician will be elected, recline in his building and continue plundering. The humble Zambian will continue eking out a living, scratching best he can to keep his family together. Let’s recognize this important difference and celebrate the many things that unite us over the very few that divide us. I love this very good story!

  14. Peace must prevail in our Country and let embrace each other despite holding different views, we shall still remain one people and avoid being used by the politicians. In first place they themselves do not fight but tend to shift the battle field to innocent poor Zambians who have left their homes on empty stomachs with the view to find something by chance to eat in the process.

  15. Friends just because of politics do we really hate each other soooo much we must always insult each other kill and maim one another? Can’t we support our own without fighting? Lets remain a good and humane people that we let us not have a genocide in out lovely nation that everyone praises……peace

  16. It is the police that ignite violence. Instead of protecting the general public, the police interest is protecting the pf and its president only. The Police are the ones causing confusion.

  17. Only God knows whose honest and sincere among presidential candidates! I just wish no one ‘akalilila ku cushi.’

  18. Problem is when a leader says if we loose we wont accept, there will be Armageddon, so what do expect the cadres to do or be? or we have already won when elections have not even taken place what do dull cadres do since their leader is telling them that he has won, some one they worship. Now who is to blame in this situation?
