Bread of Life Church International says it will attend tomorrow’s national prayers for peaceful elections.

Some media reports have been circulating which indicated that the Church will shun the event and that President Lungu’s prayers should not be used for political gains by the organisers as way to endorse a particular candidate and demonise others.

But in a statement released by Bread of Life Church International Media Team, presiding Bishop Joe Imakando, Church will attend the prayers.
“I would like to refute media reports circulating on social media in which I am quoted as having had refused to participate in this Sundays prayers for peaceful elections.”

“At no time did I issue such a statement on Facebook or any other social media considering that as a church we have always been active in praying for the nation because we stand for peace,” Bishop Imakando said.

He said he does not know the motive behind people who circulated the statement.

“It can only be described as a fabrication. I would like to state that although I would not personally be in attendance during the prayers due to other commitments, the branches in various parts of the country would actively participate because we believe in corporate prayers.”

Bishop Imakando has appealed to Zambians to ignore the posting and channel our efforts to praying for Mother Zambia ahead of August 11, 2016.

    • Every worthy concept requires testing for its efficacy.

My hypothesis is that prayer does not work.
The null hypothesis is that prayer works

That said, I am going to grant you Christians the benefit of the cumulative effects of the prayer gatherings you have had. I will pick the recent two. I will set the tipping point on this next one.

You all go pray and pray the best way you know how.

If after prayer violence breaks out any where among political factions, between the day of prayer and the elections, you and I will fail to reject the hypothesis.

Conversely, should the elections be won without violence and rumors of violence, I will join the Christian cult.

    • Chisenga, God is never mocked. Your life exists for a reason. The early you realized that the better. Repent from your unfounded research philosophy and know that God exists for real. You can mock an individual like me that is okay.

  1. PRAYING FOR WHAT EXACTLY? GOD IS SHOWING US WHERE THE PROBLEM IS COMING FROM AND WHO THE CAUSE IS. ARE YOU PEOPLE FOOLING GOD, OR ARE YOU FOOLING YOURSELVES. WHEN THE FURY OF THE LORD IS UNLEASHED ON YOU THEN YOU WILL KNOW THAT HE IS GOD. PRAY RATHER FOR LUNGU THAT HE MAY CHANGE AND SEEK THE FACE OF GOD AND SO THAT HE MAY SEE AND REPENT FOR THE VIOLENCE, PERSECUTION AND BLOOD SHED OF THE VERY PEOPLE HE IS SUPPOSED TO BE PROTECTING.

  2. Just go and work for the money you received. God is just by the Bible, if he exists, and will judge you accordingly dude.

  3. thank you pastor imakando for always putting zambia first, its for us zambians that want peace to prevail and your call for praying for the nation is a sure indicator that you are a God fearing man and you know God will come through, he always does
    24th is here,lets pray
