WEEKEND SCORECARD: Zesco United jet into Abidjan

Share

Zesco United have gotten down to business in Abidjan ahead of Wednesday’s CAF Champions League Group A clash against ASEC Mimosa.

Zesco landed in Cote d’Ivoire on Sunday night after flying in from Lusaka via Johannesburg on the same date.

George Lwandamina’s side held its first training session on Monday morning and were by press time back in practice again at Stade PARC des Sport at the same 17h30 Zambian time kickoff on Wednesday.

Zesco are second in Group A on six points, one behind Wydad Casablanca and three more than ASEC whom they beat 3-1 on July 16 in Ndola.

Al Ahly of Egypt are bottom with one point after three rounds of matches played.

A win for Lwandamina’s side will push them to the magic 9 points that could clinch their semifinal place.

No Zambia club has yet to advance from the league group stage of a continental tournament.

  1. Let’s see if these ZESCO will go to Abidjun and want the whole Motel to themselves like ASEC Mimosa did…they will simply laugh at them.
