PRESIDENT Lungu has said he will not compromise the peace of the nation and will be firm against anyone who attempts to be violent after the elections.
“As long as I remain President, there will be peace in this country,” he said.
The President said this when he addressed a public rally at Matumbo in Shiwang’andu district of Muchinga Province yesterday.
Mr Lungu, who is on a campaign trail to Muchinga Province, said he is aware that the opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) wants to cause trouble but that he would not allow that as President.
And President Lungu has said that the provision of quality health to the Zambian people is top on the Patriotic Front(PF) development agenda.
The President says this demonstrated by a number of health posts being built across the country.
President Lungu was speaking at the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of the first level Muyombe hospital which will cater for more than 40 thousand people of Mafinga.
The President has also handed over an ambulance to the hospital to enhance quality delivery of health care.
President Lungu said the ground breaking ceremony is a clear demonstration that he is a President who walks the talk.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Joseph Kasonde said government will build Seven more health Posts in Mafinga district out of the already existing nine facilities.
Dr Kasonde said four health Posts are already under construction.

If provision of quality health was your priority ,the least thing the Ministry of Health would have done was to implement the quality health standards on the provision of quality health care in hospitals.At present the standards are just on paper and gathering dust in the Ministry of Health.The institutions are severely under funded and drug/medical supply are the order of the day.

Yes PF used PVT in 2011 and no one stopped them. Let UPND also use it this year. The idea is to ensure free and fair elections. This is a very dull analysis. No one province votes 100% for one party. In this year’s election there is a GBM on the ticket so even if he doesnt win he will raise the votes from luapula, muchinga northern and parts of the copperbelt. Similarly, the PF would improve their margins in Western province for Wina’s influence. The battle ground provinces are all former PF strongholds and mostly are Bemba speaking. If the UPND and their coalition partners can improve the vote by 10% even if losing in these places ECL is just like Banda his fellow Easterner, he will be heading for defeat. The confidence in Lungu is misplaced there is no draw or drive for the crowds being ferried to his events. No message of hope, help etc you will be surprised.
