Zambia U17 hold Sudan after Cosafa overage scandal

The Zambia Under-17 Team has started life after being disqualified from the COSAFA Cup over age cheating with a modest 0-0 home draw against Sudan in Lusaka.

The Junior Chipolopolo Boys on Sunday drew with Sudan in their opening match of the 2017 CAF Under-17 Cup qualifiers played at Nkoloma Stadium.

This was the first match the disgraced Zambia team was playing since exiting the COSAFA Cup for parading over-age players ten days ago.

Zambia fielded a completely new squad from the one disqualified from the regional championship in Mauritius.

Keeper Prince Bwalya started in goal with Andrew Phiri,Hillary Mwiinga, Musonda Kalale and Jonathan Kapelembe playing in the back line.

Mwape C. Chewe, Chanda Mukuka and Niza Simutenda played in the middle of the pitch with Prince Mumba, Christopher Phiri and Francisco Mwepu leading the attack.

  1. Another Andrew Kamanga disaster. The return leg will be doom for Zambia. I am not a prophet of doom but if you want to be a good leader first support those who are leading you. This Andrew Kamanga guy made Kalu’s life as FAZ presido very difficult. Despite all the unnecessary attacks from the Kamanga faction the Great Kalu dribbled through and recorded great achievements which Kamanga will not even manage a pinch of it to achieve. Shame to the FAZ councillors who made a blind change. The Devil you know is better than the Angel you don’t know they say and a bird in hand is worth two in wilderness.

    • Where did they get those payers, from Kalingalinga, Chawama or where?
Go get players from Luapula province before rain season. Traditional farming is one which finish talent of rural talent.
