Patriotic Front parliamentary candidate for Chifubu constituency Frank Ngambi has scooped the seat after polling 17,266.

His closest rival UPND’s Lloyd Lubosha amassed 11,438 votes followed by Aaron Kaona of the FDD with 189 and 474 ballots were rejected from the total 29,367 votes cast.

The presidential votes for Chifubu are still being verified.

Meanwhile, Independent Kabwata candidate Maiko Zulu has congratulated PF candidate Given Lubinda who is poised for victory.

“Congratulations to my big brother Given Lubinda and the PF for retaining the Kabwata seat. We are proud to say we ran an honest and corrupt-free campaign and we did what we could within our means and like in any other race, there must be but only one winner and this time it wasn’t us. Today we took one on the chin but again that’s what real men do – get up, dust yourself and start all over again,” Mr Zulu said.

And MMD candidate in the Munali parliamentary seat Mike Mposha has also congratulated Professor Nkandu Luo who stood on the PF ticket for retaining the seat.

“As Prof Luo is headed for victory in Munali, first of all I wish to thank God for giving me the energy and a Team which worked tirelessly on our mission,” Mr Mposha said.

“Secondly, I do not regret to have made this decision to stand as it is my democratic right to vote and contest elections. I congratulate PF for winning the seat. To my family, friends, Church leaders, all Churches and my campaign team, Thank you for your support., life continues. I will not abandon anyone of you. Munali is our home, let’s continue doing the little we can even outside parliament. Many thanks, May God bless you all.”

Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission of Zambia has pushed its early awaited press conference which was set for 14 Hours this afternoon to 15 Hours to allow for further verification of the election results.

    • Well said maiko that is what we need, being magnanimous in defeat.
Arrogance won’t take people anywhere. You live to fight another day. After all you will come back to the same people for votes again. Never take people for granted.

    • Now for Lubinda and Luo, its other costs for the nation as we await bye-elections. They used funds from their illegal ministerial positions to campaign and win elections. It doesn’t matter if they pay back…the damage has already been done.

    • Sad indeed. I`ve never seen a country whose people are so unconcerned about the there future and future of there children like Zambia. How do you explain this support for Lungu and PF. What is it based on? Because when you dig into all the economic and development statistics on Zambia, this country is headed into a dark hole. When you statistics like Zambia being ranked 3rd hungriest nation on earth, inflation at more than 20% economy growing at 3%, $7billion in debt, unemployment at 80%—-its so scary. But to people in Zambia—–no big deal! Yes, it might not be a big deal to you —–but how about your children? There is something very, very, serious about Zambia minds.

    • EFYO IYA. UKUCITA ENCOURAGE TRIBALISM MU ZAMBIA TEBOLA ISUMA IYO. BURRY THESE TRIBALISTS ONCE AND FOR ALL. HH OUT, GBM IN AS LEADER OF THE TOONGAS NOW.

    • @1.3 ZAMBIANS ARE SO CONCERNED ABOUT THEIR FUTURE THAT’S WHY THEY CAN NEVER ALLOW ONE COW TO LEAD THEM INTO TRIBALISM.

  1. That is my country Zambia with a burgeoning democracy. But remember olila samasankha zokamba. Let’s forgive all traitors and stear the country to higher height. No need to load more bullets in some cacus of dead opponents. Time to extend the our tent of love and progress to shame haters. Together we have delivered a seemless sweet deserved victory.

    • Ba Senior Citizen. The dead body of an animal is a carcass. So some “cacus”of dead opponents is tautology.

    • Bullets? Dead opponents? Are these the words you use?

The only “traitor” I can see here is YOU!

Peace to all brother and sister Zambians – whatever their politics.

  2. @kudos my mate it’s time to console our counterparts. Lets tone down but should anyone start provoking the situation we will answer back accordingly.

  3. UPND I honestly don’t feel sorry, you as rude as your presidents it’s good that you fixing yourselves up.Zambia is not Southern province. Wait and watch this space,no matter how match you’ll insult nothing is coming your way.

  4. Had Lungu been leading the results could have been announced already. The system is hoping for people to protest and declare a state of emergency. Going by results from polling stations totaled up HH has worn this election by 51.5%

  5. Where are both local and international observers. Get to know why ECZ is delaying to announce the results. The voting process was peaceful by why is ECZ running into circles. Whose interest are they trying to serve. Please Observers and monitors take keen interest on this scheme to delay announcing the results to make your participation relevant to the electoral process in Zambia. The votes are hot on some one’s hands. They want to steal votes using ECZ. Be on Red Alert please.

    • Delaying because as usual Demi god alarming situations. From chasing empty trucks to now chasing aroplanes. Chamitwala nomba to people every one at Mulungushi other than chuundua are suspects. Bola mpashi!!!

  6. WE CALL THE ELECTIONS FREE AND FAIR BUT ONE THING WE MUST REMEMBER IS THAT PF IS FULL OF THIEVES AND SOON ZAMBIA WILL FALL INTO DISARRAY WITH THE ECONOMIC PITFALLS. ZNBC MEDIA WAS BIAS AND COULD NOT ALLOW OTHER OPPONENTS TO BE EXPOSED.

  7. Part of the delay is because as usual the under 5 party is disputing some results even when their agents sighed for them at the polling station. This is desperation at its best, from chasing ECZ trucks to chasing results. Kikikiki. Mulimbe chabe!

  8. There are no “winners” or “losers” here if at the end of the day Zambia doesn’t come out on top!

Thinking that there are individual scoresheets is these elections is not the way to help heal the wounds of what has been a quite acrimonious race, mistakes have been made by both sides of the divide, things said that shouldn’t have been said, and lots of promises made that will be difficult to keep.

Remember, this is NOT a game, Zambia is in trouble and needs urgent solutions to the many problems that we all face together, that’s the reality…

  10. Its strange, still no numbers coming out even after almost 24hrs from time first election centers closed.
At least some numbers, mwe bantu, nishani kanshi ba ECZ

  11. Someone today joked that as far as Tongas are concerned if it’s not HH then it’s not real. You can give each villager a hospital with doctor etc, but if it’s not HH it’s nothing.

    • The white colonialists used exactly the same words as yours: “You blacks cannot participate in governance; We shall take care of you; we shall build for you schools and hospitals and roads”. Is history repeating itself or it is mere coincidence!

  14. We will never be ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION until Tongas changes their stupid pattern way of voting. Magoye HH 21918, Edgar 875. This is total madness and irresponsibility to the fullest. May I salute my Brothers from Luapula for copying and pasting the Tonga Way of voting. Congrats my Brothers. Tongas must be taught a big lesson. This attitude of just wanting to be ruled by a Tonga is serious Torture to the citizens. Believe me EDGAR is winning. Iam also happy that all the riffraff’s, Guy Scott and Charlotte, Masebo, sibongile and his GBM, Useless Mulenga Sata, Miles Sampa, Bashi nono, Luckson Kazabu, Mwaliteta have kissed Goodbye.
