Party Spokesperson Charles Kakoma said the statement circulating on social media is a propaganda by some disgruntled PF members who are depressed due to the cancelation of their President’s inauguration.
Mr Kakoma said only people without regard for the law think of bloodshed and that the constitution will ensure that the will of the people prevails.
“The statement circulating on social media accusing UPND Vice President Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba is false, alarming and merely cheap propaganda by the depressed Patriotic Front who are nursing shock wounds from the cancelled inauguration they dreamt would be held tomorrow.
“Surely only lawless people think of bloodshed because the Constitution is there to guide and ensure that the will of the people prevail. “Balesabayila” because their sins and insincerity are getting back to their lawlessness which has been exposed in the manner they want to cause confusion in a country which has enjoyed peace since independence,” he said.
He also said his party believes in the unitary Zambia.
“We believe Zambia is a unitary state and its people have lived in harmony with each other until now when the PF has set an agenda of tribalism which has failed to work and now creating a situation as if they are ethnic divisions in a country known of peace.
“The said statement is merely to get at our Vice President who did not hold a meeting or address any meeting today. We are fully aware of all attempts to assume that peace is at stake, that will not work,” he said.
He further advised the Patriotic Front to stop using tricks in a bid to falsely warrant an arrest or questioning by the police on their leaders on issues that are non existence.
He also called on the police to remain professional and ensure that law prevail adding that his party’s members are being victimized without anyone being arrested.
” It is a well known fact that UPND members have been attacked, homes destroyed including its offices in Kitwe and Lusaka , members including women chased from their business premises and police have not made any arrests.
“UPND victims have instead been arrested and detained while Known PF cadres like Max and his team were released even after committing a serious offence in Petauke. We advise the PF to come to terms with reality that Zambia is a country and not an animal farm.”
