WEEKEND SCORECARD: Kenya prepare for Zambia with friendly date

Share

Sunday’s final 2017 Africa Cup Group E qualifier maybe a dead-rubber but Kenya is taking the buildup for their trip to Zambia seriously.

Kenya face Uganda in a friendly derby on Tuesday away in Kampala to prepare for the match against Zambia in Ndola on September 4.

Leading the team for both the friendly and visit to Zambia is their Tottenham Hotspurs midfielder Victor Wanyama.

Also in the team is the Zesco United trio of striker Jesse Were, midfielder Anthony Agay and defender David Owino who missed the clubs’ 0-0 home draw on Sunday against Green Eagles to join the Harambee Stars for the friendly.

Zambia beat Kenya 2-1 in the first leg meeting last September in Nairobi with goals from Winston Kalengo and Collins Mbesuma who will miss the return leg due to serve a suspension after accruing two yellow cards in the qualifiers.
