Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed confidence that under the leadership of President Edgar Chagwa Lungu, the government and the people of the Republic of Zambia will make new and greater achievements in national development.

President Xi said this in a congratulatory message to President Lungu on his re-election as President of the Republic of Zambia in the August 11 general election.

President Xi says the Chinese government attaches great importance to the China-Zambia traditional friendship and the development of bilateral relations between the two countries.

The Chinese President says he will work with President Lungu to take the implementation of the consensus and outcomes of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Johannesburg Summit held in December 2015, as an opportunity to further elevate bilateral relations between Zambia and China to greater heights.

The Chinese President says he is pleased that the two leaders met twice last year during President Lungu’s State Visit to China in March, 2015 and the December FOCAC Johannesburg Summit where important consensus was reached on deepening bilateral political mutual trust, friendly and mutually- beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

“I learned with great pleasure the news of your re-election as President of the Republic of Zambia. On behalf of the government and people of China, and in my own name, I would like to extend to Your Excellency my sincere congratulations and best wishes. I wish Your Excellency, every success in your high office,” President Xi said.

Last week, a Spokesperson of the Chinese Department of Foreign Affairs recognised the re-election of President Lungu as a legitimate expression of the will of the people.

    • It seems that the Chinese are now the latest colonial masters and taking over from where the British who colonised Zambia left.
China to enjoy the spoils of post colonialism and partition of African countries like Zambia.
Very soon Jack Musonda Chen Sakala or Jet Lee Zimba Mutale will be in Nkwanzi. Chinese the Kalulu.

    • Can a looney bin take HH before he wreaks more havoc in his gullible third Zambia supporters who now have Stockholm Syndrome.

    • Are the Chinese going to give Lungu money? If they are, what does he want from IMF? Oh by the way PF has not paid back a penny towards the Chinese loans so money from that side bane.

Mugabe , Lungu ‘s mentor has failed to borrow more money from China and now has decided to print promissory notes to run the country. How preposterous!

At least Zim promissory notes will be hedged against the diamonds. What about Zambia’s when that time comes soon.

Lets prepare for more load shedding, more delay in paying salaries, high school fees for our children.

    • NO NUBIAN PRINCESS YOUR FATHER WILL GROW RICHER WITH ALL THE MONEY PAID TO HIM FROM THE CHINESE TO TO INVEST IN CHICKEN FARMING AND ROASTING MAIZE ON THE STREETS OF LUSAKA.

    • LET’S FACE IT, THE WORLD IS MOVING AWAY FROM AMERICA TOWARDS CHINA. AND CURRENTLY THE RIGHT PERSON (PRESIDENT) WHO CAN WORK WELL WITH CHINA IS ECL. THE LATE MICHAEL C SATA SET THE PATH OR SHOULD WE SAY REVIVED THE PATH WHICH WAS LAID BY KK IN THE EARLY 70s. HALUSA HAGAIN WANTS TO WORK WITH ANGLO-AMERICAN PLC THAT DUMPED ZAMBIA WHEN WE MOST NEEDED A FRIEND. HOW DO YOU BRING SUCH DEVILS BACK? TO BE DUMPED, HAGAIN AND HAGAIN? ALL ZAMBIANS MUST READ FRENCH W HOWARD’S BOOK: China’s Second Continent: How a Million Migrants Are Building a New Empire in Africa.
OR AT LEAST LISTEN TO THE BOOK REVIEW:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0jX0N0FrkY

  1. Edgar failed already, he can’t make peace with HH and Zambians for a month now, and still going rough. He has not worked in 3 weeks, it will be hard for him to regroup.

    • He already has a cabinet in place. He is just waiting to Dununa it with his supporters on Tuesday then Wednesday press conference and off he starts his full mandate. Peace is no were near HH and no one can make peace with him. He will differ with GBM soon, Mumba alasela ukwakaba soon. I pity you.

    • But he will still get paid in full while someone will be trying to think how to pay back campaign money and how many cows are remaining. It must be very hard for bitter people right now.

    • Lungu will get always get paid in full using your money while you continue getting your pay on the 60th day!

HH has enough money for his family. He can apply for permanent visa any where in the world as an investor with a track record. What about Lungu?

Remember EU bonds need servicing, if he is rushing to IMF how is he going to service that debt?

    • I hope you remember social studies and Civics. Permanent Secretaries carryout the duties of ministers with or without one in office. Zambia has been running and shall continue to do so. Think rationally for once, and do not be swayed by emotions. It was a legal matter our constitutional court was attending to. It is business of the highest order.

    • EDGAR NEEDS TO MAKE PEACE WITH ZAMBIANS AND NOT AN INDIVIDUAL. IT WILL BE ANOTHER SHEAR WASTE OF TIME FOR ECL TO START TRYING TO MAKE PEACE WITH A BITTER LOSING EXPERT BECAUSE HE MAY RUB OFF THE LOSING GYNES TO ECL.

  2. State institutions are vital to a vibrant democracy. The ConCourt dropped the ball. It cheated the petitioners by telling them that during the 14 days it would dispose of the preliminary issues. It actually didn’t even work on weekends and hardly for more than an hour or two on the remaining 10 days.

Then when trial is about to start it heeds the Respondents who claim that the petition was time barred and without giving the petitioners time to rebut for following ConCourt directions it decides to abandon the hearing of petition.

This matter will make our jurisprudence books on why not to appoint incompetent lawyers/judges to such august courts.

  3. Just wait other so called majority Zambians, they feel it is business as usual, saying things will be ok once we preach in media and churches minus meeting the aggrieved parties.People will be shocked that Zambia will fail to heal and they will fights in parliament and no economic development.Zambia is a failed state indeed.

    • You might have issues with the election petition but at least wish the Zambian people well instead of cursing them. That is what is called patriotism

  4. ba Lungu kuwayawaya fye.Mwanya mwa kulalambalala fye mulunkonto during lunch no food.We shall see your dununa.?Me I will continue enjoying from sweat, while working in RSA.

    • @Prof Mbao Chamanga Nzila. I KNOW YOU ARE A SELFISH TRIBALIST AND THAT IS WHY YOU ARE SAYING SUCH THINGS. WHO ENVIES SOUTH AFRICA ANYWAY?

    • Continue being bitter and hurting. You have wished us every evil and bad there can be in the world but we have continued to kick right left and centre. It is Dunana all the way while you continue being a Kwerekwere.

  5. I’m just waiting for KWACHA to start BLEEDING so that I can make serious money.

The weaker the kwacha, the more profit I make on my business. When is IMF landing? Remove the subsidies so that kwacha is devalued to it’s real value to the dollar. Now it’s strong for nothing. When u just buy talktym & put gas in car, the money is finished.

  6. Chinese have really destroyed our economy:-

They’ve made PF addicted to KALOBA. Chinese Contractors & PF cadres are the main benefactors from the contracts from chinese loans. Money goes back to China & Govt has still to pay back loan & interest. In short, we are paying twice for the same loan

Now PF think they can borrow from IMF & steal like the way they were getting cuts from Chinese. Zambia had no debt & huge reserves before PF took over. Now we are sitting with zero reserves & a debt of over $7BILLION with a huge trade deficit

  7. China seriously…ECL thought you have done research on these loonies. They come in the country as developer yet they live in the shantytown small over Zambia. Selling cellphones in the streets. What development will they bring? Dumb asses!!!

  8. What the Chinese President is saying is Lazy Lungu will continue with mortaging Zambia and enslaving our unborn children to the Chinese through more loans!!

  9. This is the first time I am seeing a crime that expires. Next time, a similar act will be committed by someone and immediately fly out for a month. When you come back after a month, the criminal case will have expired. Advice to MP’s whose seats have been petitioned: go out for 120 days and switch off your phones and when you come back, the 90 day period will be over and there you are; you have won the case on account that 90day period is over and you were not served with summons.

  10. Chinese involvement in our economy is taking us backwards. Look ze bad disposable roads by chinese contractors. The embassador is saying chinese will make more money now

  11. The late savambi of Angola congratutes his Excellency in failure the under five for his fifth loss. He te?ls him not to follow his bush war methods as they too dangerous for him.

  12. To the UPND supporters, Get a life, let us move on, politics are over, its now business, your leader has tried his best to win the votes of the Zambian majority, but he has failed 5 times in 10 years.

To the prophets of doom, advocating that the economy will be worse under E.C.L, you have missed it, Zambia is well and will be well for the next 5 years. The partnership with China did not start with the P.F but with UNIP, so stop making noise about the Chinese investment in Zambia. Your H.H with all his wealth, has nothing to point at in his own Village that the community can benefit from, a foreigner like Dangote has changed the face of Zambia with his investment under the P.F government.

We do not need time wasters, we need action oriented people, H.H the number 1 time waster Zambia…
