Opposition Green Party President Peter Sinkamba has bemoaned the lack of adequate mental health facilities in the country.
Mr. Sinkamba says it is regrettable that the country only has one mental health institution at a time when the number of mental health patients is increasing.
He is advising government to priotize the construction of more mental hospitals in all the 10 provinces.
Mr. Sinkamba has observed that mental health is one of the health conditions that has been seriously neglected in Zambia hence the urgent need to give it priority before more lives are lost.
He adds that the poor state of Chainama mental health hospital has resulted in some families refusing to take their sick family members to the facility.
I am so voting for this Guy! His ideas are really out of the box – the kind of thinking that we need in Africa! We can earn billions off marijuana and we also need to care for mental health patients and remove the useless stigma. Ati bana mulowa!
First he promotes dagger then he advocates for more mental health hospitals, the man smokes alot I believe.

Everyone knows that ichamba chilapenya except for those who are luck. We have lost so many of our relatives from the same canabis or is it Dagga smoking. Mr Sinkamba your manifesto is not popular and it will take you nowhere. You want to promote dagga smoking then build more mental hospitals, this is weird thinking. If this was coming from someone who does not promote dagga smoking it would make sense.
For advocating for free dagga smoking in the nation with hindsight of the opponent views, he throws in what he supposes will mitigate their fears, yet fixed in purpose for ‘free dagga’

In other words, as much as he sympathizes with would be victims in the ‘free dagga zone’ Zambia, nothing absolutely nothing should as much as come in the way of stopping the promotion of the free herb.

This guy is smart but he needs to rebrand his party and invite more women and sober minded people around him.
The problem I have with Sinkamba is that he narrowly thinks the green party is only about dobo. Green parties world wide are largely pacificist and talk more about renewable energy sources that I do not hear from Sinkamba. Just wonder why Sinkamba is so fixated on marijuana. Could it be he loves the stuff and smokes it?
Yes Mr. Sinkamba you are so right, We dont even have more Psychologists and Psychiatrists in this land. All schools should have atleast one educational psychologist to assist the students with their educational challenges, because most of these problems come from their home environments, Parenting styles and (nurture) who the child was conceived and what happened to the mother during the 9 months gestation period.) are usual a factor in failing exams. Children and college studies with LEARNING DISORDERS, LIKE DYSLEXIA. (An in ability to spell and also seeing words as being back to front of upside down) DON’T being spelt as TOND. Most of our people in this land have unattended mental or psychological issues. Due to lack of mental health centres and hospitals, people are forced to live with dysfunctional lives and told by society that they have been BEWITCHED or have DEMONS . Fake Prophets and Pastors are capitalising on this. Our leaders need Psychological evaluations from time to time and also need to be taught HEALTHY COPING MECHANISMS. OUR SOCIETY IS FULL OF ANGER, RESENTMENT AND BITTERNESS. Our people need to be taught ANGER MANAGEMENT COPING SKILLS. All these negative emotions are TOXIC TO THE SOUL AND BODY OF A PERSON AND SOCIETY.
