Zesco hope to close gap with Nkana

Third placed Zesco United hope to move within four points of second positioned Nkana in their battle for a top two finish when they hosts Napsa Stars at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on Wednesday.

The former champions must win all their last four games to keep their hopes of continental football in 2017 alive following a successful 2016 that saw them reach the CAF Champions League semifinals.

A second place finish will see them usurp Nkana for next years CAF Confederation Cup.

Nkana have one game left to play and an away win at Forest Rangers this Saturday in Ndola will see them finish on 70 points.

Zesco can attain 72 points should they win their outstanding four games.

And Zesco are unbeaten against 10th placed Napsa since the visitors were promoted in 2012 and beat the latter 2-0 away in Lusaka on April 27.

Zesco enjoy seven wins and two draw against Napsa.

Meanwhile in Wednesday’s other games, newly crowned champions Zanaco host 14th placed Lumwana Radiants.

And at Godfrey ‘Ucar’ Chitalu Stadium in Kabwe, fourth placed Power Dynamos visit sixth positioned Kabwe Warriors.
