Share

Former Chipolopolo midfielder Emmanuel Munaile has tipped Zambia to overcome Senegal in Sunday’s Under-20 Africa Cup final at Heroes Stadium in
Lusaka.

Both finalists are unbeaten going into the 17h30 kick off final.

Munaile said he was impressed with Zambia’s display so far at the Junior Championship.

“They have done well and I believe that the will be able to win this trophy,” Munaile said.

Zambia are in the final after overcoming South Africa 1-0 in extra time in the semifinals having beaten Guinea 1-0, Mali 6-1 and Egypt 3-1 in the group stages.

“Come Sunday we should be able to win the cup. We have a good team. They have been playing well. They are very confident,” he said.

And Munaile implored Zambia to be clinical in front when they tackle the West Africans in Lusaka.

“At times they (Zambia) don’t know when to shoot when they are in scoring position. I think we need to work on that,” he noted.

Senegal beat Guinea 1-0 at the semifinal stage after winning Group B where they beat Cameroon 2-0 and South Africa 4-3 having drawn their opener with
Sudan 1-1.

  1. They know when to shoot. It is basic. You should when you are in front of the goal. Say they have to be accurate when they shoot.

    • Winning is about believing you yourself?? If our Boys go in with the spirit to win, then that’s it, it will be our day. all the Best Chipolopolo..

  2. Agony is when you don’t know how our Police officers are going to react today over whatever will be going on outside the stadium. It is such a pity that our Police has become so unprofessional of late. Stuff they do these days were completely unheard of in the days some of us watched the likes of Ucar Godfrey Chitalu (MHSRIP). How did they lose their professionalism even with better equipment like water canons!?? I watched a game at Wembley, London 2 years ago. Such effective crowd control by their Police (unarmed) is a something worth watching.

    • @Naomi

“How did they lose their professionalism…….?”

The minute thugs (PF) assumed govt things began to fall apart and will continue to fall at alarming sputnik speed until a professional govt comes to power.

  3. It’s not automatic that we have a good team. We Congratulate Coach Best-On Chambeshi and the Technical team for assembly such a team and not forgetting the office bearers at FAZ. WISH JR CHIPOLOPOLO ALL THE BEST-ON

  4. What do you mean clinical? they should open fire when ever there is a chance, Football is about goals not fashion. You are just misleading the boys. There is no room for casual approach we must take the Cup.

  5. Agony is having Munaile saying Zambia don’t know when to shoot when they are in a scoring position??????.

    • Too early to say that, hold on mudaala until the final game.
Both teams were unbeaten in group stage = 50:50 very interesting

    • Matafwali

Thanks for asking… I meant ^’ ^¨too early to congratulate them as they still had a final game to play which they won today.

  6. I’m praying for Zambia to win so that Kalusha Bwalya,Kazala and the other PF thugs trying to ruin Zambian football can be shut up…

    • Am not sure how “Independent” you are Independent. The first and and so far the only time that the Zambian National Soccer team won the AFCON, a certain Michael Chilufya Sata and his PF ‘thugs’ were in charge of the nation. Is there any way you can let soccer fans talk about soccer on a topic about soccer without injecting often baseless political innuendos into the conversation?

  7. MUNAILE WAS A MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT FOR MALOLE ALSO A PASTOR AND SOCCER PLAYER IN THE 80S HOW THE HELL HE CANNOT PREDICT THE SCORES AND YET HE IS A PRIEST. HE ALSO NEVER MENTIONED OF KALU TO BE GREAT FOR ORGANIZING SUCH A TEAM, KAMUTINDILA ANDREW KAMANGA JUST FOUND THE BOYS ALREADY PLAYING SOCCER.
