Lumwana Radiants sneak back to number 1

Share

Lumwana Radiants are back at the top of the FAZ Super Division following Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Konkola Blades at Lumwana Grounds.

Lumwana moved to 11 points, one above Zanaco who thumped Nakambala Leopards 4-1 in Lusaka on Sunday to increase their tally to 10 points.

Konkola midfielder Tapson Kaseba denied Lumwana victory after cancelling Simon Nkhata’s strike minutes before the final whistle.

Lumwana takes over league leadership from Zesco United who lost 1-0 at Napsa Stars in Lusaka on Saturday.

At National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka, Zanaco sneaked into second position after thumping Nakambala Leopards 4-1.

Saith Sakala, Felix Nyaende, Richard Kasonde and Kennedy Musonda were the scorers with Ignatius Lwipa scoring Nakambala’s consolation goal.

Earlier at National Heroes Stadium, Lusaka Dynamos registered their first win of the season after overcoming Red Arrows 3-1.

Chris Mugalu’s brace and a goal from Simon Mulenga propelled Patrick Phiri’s Dynamos to victory.

Ackim Mumba was the scorer for Arrows.
