The opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) has described as provocative the ruling PF’s indication that it will to join in prayers for the release of incarcerated UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema.
The UPND has said that it intends hold prayers for the release of its incarcerated leader who stands charged with treason.
But yesterday, PF deputy spokesperson Frank Bwalya disclosed that the ruling is ready and willing to take part in the planned prayers for the UPND leader.
But UPND National Chairperson Mutale Nalumango has advised Mr Bwalya to stop mocking her party and its leaders.
Mrs. Nalumango says if the PF wants to pray for Mr Hichilema they should do it quietly and on their own instead of waiting for the UPND to hold prayers.
She states that if Mr Bwalya is truly a man of God he will refrain from making offensive and mocking comments on the UPND leader.
Frank Bwalya Chiyabi has a problem…. I know him very well. Ignore him and pray for him too.
I know his family well…..just pray for Him…. not all his family members agree with what he does or says.. The sad part you cannot disown your own child even if he has a problem….
This Frank Bwalya thug takes politics of the belly to extremes! One wonders how he ever made it as a priest in the first place.

The Prayers stunt by UPND will not work. It will complicate issues even more. This is the party which has been against prayers all along. Today they want to go the Prayers way. This division must end. Many of you are mocking God. Anybody can pray for anyone. After all not all prayer is answered sometimes because some prayers are of ill motive. How does one pray for God to punish another as though God has to get you instruction? God is God. Most of you must pray for God’s guidance to make proper judgement and comments to the matter in court right now regarding HH. All well meaning Zambians must pray for a fair and rational outcome. A bit confusing now!! Some Christians have lost it. They think prayer is an instruction to God to fulfil their wish. We must not engage God when our minds and hearts are dirty. Infact if one prays with heart loaded with evil and hate, God blesses the hated. I do not then see anything wrong in ECL calling for national prayer but I see everything wrong in all who boycotted because of the reason that God grants genuine prayer and provides the best under any option. Even ECL cannot instruct God.
