Mrs Sarah Longwe during the press briefing
Non- Governmental Organizations’ Coordinating Council (NGOCC) board Chairperson Sara Longwe has urged Zambians to unite and demand for the country’s leadership to ensure that Zambia, the once an oasis of peace, is restored back to its former glory forthwith.

Speaking during the National Prayer Meeting for peace and Unity in Zambia at the Lusaka’s Cathedral of the Holy Cross organized by City of Refuge Ministries Church on 15th may, 2017, Ms. Longwe who also noted with sadness the decision by the Energy Regulation Board (ERB) to approve the 75 per cent electricity tariff hike for retail said the situation and other hovering thorny issues in Zambia if left unchecked Zambia’s governance system will deteriorate and the economy will collapse and devastate the lives of many Zambians.

“Zambians should stand up and unite as they demand for the country’s leadership to ensure that Zambia, the once an oasis of peace, is restored back to its former glory immediately” Ms. Longwe said

And speaking at the same event, Bishop Simon Chihana said the church in Zambia has a duty to preach peace and not to be compromised by some of the selfish politicians in Zambia.

“The church has a duty to preach peace in Zambia but it must not allow itself to be compromised by some of the selfish politicains” Chihana said

  1. She has been stealing Kalaki’s whisky while the old man is now confused. What glory is there in Zambia’s history that needs to be restored? Her husband has been criticising EVERY government including that of Levy, who even attempted to deport him. Old people are liars. There is no such thing as good old days. What was good about the One Party State? What was good about Whites-only schools and hospitals? What was good about 99.99% of Zambians not owning their own homes but renting from the government and council or the mines? Osanama wenye a nyaLongwe!

  2. I SUPPORT SARAH IN THIS. WE ZAMBIANS ARE LIKE SHEEP BEING HERDED BY SHEPHARDS.WE TAKE WHATEVER IS BEING THROWN AT US WITHOUT A WORD. IMAGINE THE HIKE IN ELECTRICITY AND WE KEEP QUIET. WE SEE THE UNFAIR TREATMENT OF SOME PEOPLE AND WE DO NOTHING. I AM NOT ADVOCATING FOR VIOLENCE BUT WE WANT OUR PEACEFUL LAW ABIDING COUNTRY BACK. CADRES RULE THE COUNTRY. EVEN OUR POLICE HAVE NO POWER OVER THESE CADRES. LET US GET BACK THE ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION WE HAD PEACEFULLY .

    • There’s peace in Zambia, stop misleading simple minds madam. First, make peace with yourself, thereafter, you will be at peace with every one around you, including your ‘enemies’, OK?

  3. Here comes flowing the wisdom of the WHITE man’s African WIFE. When innocent lives are slain by UPND cadres, Longwe opts to lie low feigning innocence. When HH makes imbecilic blunders, it is normal business for Longwe. But when the Law takes its course, Longwe demands that Zambians must stand to restore her version of the country’s glory.

Question is: WHO FUNDS LONGWE’S NGOCC? Has the BRENTHURST FOUNDATION extended its tentacles to Longwe’s NGOCC? Or we may as well speculate that HH is so rich that he has hired South Africa’s NUMSA and Odinga as well as finance the operations of NGOCC. Hence the unusual but well coordinated reactions of Obasanjo, Odinga, NUMSA and Longwe. One day history will register the truth.

  4. Yes sister Longwe. A lot is wrong in our country Zambia. Greedy and selfishness by our politicians is what has ruined this country.

  5. UPND supporters please think twice. Before this party we didn’t know a Tonga or Bembas we were Zambians. Today you have brought division among tribes. The safest party is dividing the church. We have pastors for UPND and pastors for PF. Mandela did what was unthinkable can’t we have another Mandela from prison to meeting Lungu and promise to work together?

    • You chaps should be ashamed of such lying both tongas and UPND were there under other governments and did not have the divisions that we have now brought by the PF governments failure to govern in a fair way.PF is hiding failure in feigning tribalism when it is tribal it self. Our country is headed for total collapse with this leadership pre-occupied with eating.

  6. What is wrong is only a Tonga , a Tonga should rule, this is our year. Why not a Zambian to rule? Leadership comes from God not a tribe. The problem is not Lungu but the hatred you have for some tribe. Sata, Chiluba, Kaunda, RB and KATELE were arrested did you see their chiefs leaving palaces?

  7. Thought the gathering was for prayers but how did Madam Longwe reach as far as the decision by the Energy Regulation Board (ERB) to approve the 75 per cent electricity tariff hike?
